According to the investigation, Son, 18 years old; Hai, 28 years old, and a friend drove to a coffee shop in Tan Ha commune, Tan Chau district to resolve a conflict with a group of young men. However, these three people mistakenly slashed a 16-year-old boy and injured him.
Tien heard that his acquaintance had been hacked, so he asked Tuan to bring a wooden sword to the scene. Seeing Son's group taking the teenager to the emergency room, Tien chased after them. At the intersection of Tan Ha commune, Tuan sat in the back and used his sword to hit the driver's hand, causing Son's group to fall over. Son and Hai died on the spot.
