In the border commune of Tam Hop, in addition to the participation of the local government, Tam Hop Border Guard Station is one of the core forces undertaking epidemic prevention and control work. Lieutenant Colonel Mai Van Cuong - Political Commissar of Tam Hop Border Guard Station said that Tam Hop commune has 1 border gate, in addition, there are many exits and entrances connecting Tam Hop villages to other communes. To prevent and control the epidemic, in addition to the fixed checkpoint at the border gate, the unit has coordinated with the locality to arrange a fixed checkpoint on the main road connecting National Highway 7 to the area; arrange mobile checkpoints to regularly check the trails leading to the villages, resolutely not allowing strangers and people from epidemic areas to enter the area.

"Only necessary and urgent cases are allowed to enter and must comply with epidemic prevention and control measures, make medical declarations, and register their itinerary. People from epidemic areas, other villages, other communes, and children working far away who want to enter Tam Hop commune must undergo medical isolation according to regulations. Hoa Ly is quite far from the commune center, and the road is also difficult to travel. For the past 2 months, Ms. Vi Thi Hoa, a resident in the village, said that her family has hardly left the area. And here, people only leave the village when it is really necessary, minimizing the number of people to join the government and forces in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic. People in Hoa Ly village also said that many children work far away in the province and in the country, although they want to return home, everyone is urging them not to return at this time. And if there are strangers entering the area, people immediately report to the authorities for handling.

Established 22 interception teams, 46 working groups, border control stations, military-civilian medical stations with 379 comrades to combine regular tasks with epidemic prevention and control (of which Border Guard: 311, Police: 24, Customs: 10, Militia: 26, Health: 16, protective forests 2). Sea route: Maintained 6 border control stations with 36 comrades to perform the task of controlling river mouths and inlets in combination with controlling illegal entry and exit by sea and preventing and controlling the Covid-19 epidemic.

In addition, the Border Guard also built 34 permanent and semi-permanent teams, posts and accompanying equipment; of which, there are 11 permanent posts, 23 semi-permanent posts (prefabricated steel houses guaranteed by the Border Guard Command (18 posts) and the Provincial Border Guard Command (5 posts).

For Covid-19 prevention and control checkpoints, 100% of the staff will be on duty 24/7, performing the task of protecting national borders, preventing illegal entry and exit, and preventing and controlling Covid-19.

Accordingly, border guards in the province have coordinated with localities to quickly deploy many measures to prevent and control the epidemic with the motto of mobilizing the entire political system and people to participate. Specifically, by coordinating with localities to launch the Movement "All people participate in preventing and fighting Covid-19 and illegal entry and exit" in 58 communes (wards) with 92,158 households signing. 128 mailboxes were presented to villages and hamlets to report illegal entry and exit; nearly 50,000 masks of all kinds were given to people in border areas.

For example, in the two communes of My Ly and Bac Ly, My Ly Border Guard Station has worked with the villages to install 25 mailboxes to report illegal immigrants. In Ngoc Lam commune (Thanh Chuong), Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tu Hoa - Political Commissar of Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station also set up 2 fixed checkpoints and 3 mobile checkpoints to control people at the entrances and exits of 20 villages and hamlets in the 3 communes of Ngoc Lam, Thanh Son and Hanh Lam. In addition to the checkpoints, this unit also organizes propaganda and dissemination of laws in rotation in the villages, ensuring "coverage" to 1,700 households here.

In the whole province, border units have conducted 518 concentrated propaganda sessions/16,482 people; propagandized to households: 1,456 households/7,236 people; via loudspeakers: 286 hours, via portable loudspeakers: 148 hours; distributed 15,100 leaflets; hung 224 banners and posters.
