More than 5,000 people at Nghe An General Friendship Hospital tested negative for Covid-19
(Baonghean.vn) - Immediately after discovering a patient being isolated and treated was infected with Covid-19, Nghe An General Hospital tested all staff, patients and the patient's family members.
On the morning of July 16, Mr. Nguyen Van Huong - Director of Nghe An General Hospital said that more than 5,000 test samples here had negative results for Covid-19. These were test samples of all staff, patients and patients' relatives.
Previously, on the evening of July 13, when conducting tests to discharge a patient from the hospital, the Tropical Diseases Center (under Nghe An General Hospital) discovered that this person was infected with Covid-19. According to Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, this patient was previously treated at Unit 3, Department of General Infection - an isolation area for treating patients suspected of being infected with SARS-CoV-2 at the Tropical Diseases Center.

"Since being admitted to the hospital, this patient has been in the isolation treatment area, so the possibility of spreading the infection is very low," said Mr. Huong. However, to ensure safety, the hospital has temporarily locked down Unit 3 and screened patients and their relatives discharged from the Tropical Disease Center within the past 14 days.
At the same time, the hospital also urgently took samples and conducted PCR tests for nearly 5,100 people, including all staff, patients and relatives of patients being treated at the hospital.
Currently, medical examination and treatment at the hospital are still taking place normally.
