30 communes in Nghe An escape from extremely difficult areas of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas
(Baonghean.vn) - The Prime Minister has just issued decisions approving the list of communes and villages with special difficulties in ethnic minority and mountainous areas nationwide for the period 2021-2025.
According to the above decision, Nghe An province still has 76 communes and 38 villages in region III -especially difficult;131 communes in region II (communes still in difficulty) and 55 communes in region I (initial development) along with 9 districts and towns in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Previously, in the 2015-2020 period, Nghe An had a total of 252 communes in region III, region II and region I, of which 106 communes in region III (particularly difficult), 100 communes in region II (communes still facing difficulties) and 46 communes in region I (initial development).
Thus, Nghe An reduced 30 communes in region III, 100 communes in region II and increased 9 communes in region I. Similarly, the number of extremely disadvantaged villages and hamlets in mountainous ethnic minority areas also decreased from 1,339 villages and hamlets (including 3 regions III, II and I), of which 1,181 villages and hamlets in region III were extremely disadvantaged to 38 villages and hamlets at present.

In addition to the above criteria, the Prime Minister's Decision also clearly stipulates that communes in Region III in ethnic minority and mountainous areas must be unrecognized communes.new rural standardsand has 1 of 2 criteria: having a poverty rate of 20% or more (except for communes in the Mekong Delta region with a poverty rate of 15% or more or having more than 150 poor households of ethnic minorities)...

Based on this classification, the Government will issue a Decree detailing support policies for each commune and village to deploy and allocate investment resources for economic development, hunger eradication, and poverty reduction.sustainable poverty reductionperiod 2021-2025./.
