Ngoc Hai could only send gifts home to his daughter and wish her a happy birthday over the phone. The captain of the Vietnamese national team received updates on his little princess's birthday from his wife, Thuy Phuong, through videos of the little girl blowing out candles and unwrapping presents.

Viettel FC returned to Vietnam on July 12th after the conclusion of the AFC Champions League 2021 group stage. Initially, Viettel received information that the entire team would have to undergo a 21-day quarantine and an additional 7 days of self-monitoring at their residences. However, after receiving an official letter from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) sent to the Ministry of Health, Viettel only had to quarantine for 14 days. If there are no further changes, Que Ngoc Hai and his teammates will be able to return home on July 27th.

Ngoc Hai left home at the beginning of May to join the Vietnamese national team in preparation for the remaining three matches of the second round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in the UAE. Immediately after completing his duties with the national team, on June 16th, he and a group of players from Viettel flew directly from Dubai to Bangkok to compete in the AFC Champions League group stage.

It has been over two months since Ngoc Hai last saw his wife Thuy Phuong and daughter Sunny. June 1st marked their 6th anniversary of being together, but the 27-year-old central defender could only send his wife loving messages. He said he misses his wife and daughter very much and hopes to return home soon to enjoy her cooking.

Since the V-League is likely to be postponed until February 2022, Que Ngoc Hai will not have to train with Viettel FC after completing his quarantine. He is expected to spend more than two weeks with his family before joining the Vietnamese national team to prepare for the third round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in mid-August.
