(Baonghean.vn) - It is expected that there will be 5 flights to welcome about 1,000 Nghe An citizens from Ho Chi Minh City back in the first phase.

Information from the leaderVinh International Airportsaid that as soon as there was information that Nghe An would welcome about 1,000 citizens from Ho Chi Minh City back by plane, the unit was coordinating with Nghe An CDC and localities to come up with the most complete plan to welcome people.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Minh - Deputy Director of Vinh International Airport said: On July 29, the unit met with CDC Nghe An to have plans when citizens arrive at Vinh airport. Accordingly, if citizens are quarantined at aquarantine areaWe will not arrange for testing at the airport, but will quickly transport all passengers to the quarantine area and take samples there.

In case of not centralized isolation but scattered at many locations, depending on the actual situation, the two units will arrange a sampling area at Vinh airport or if the isolation locations are close to each other, passengers can be brought to the isolation area first and samples taken later.

It is known that if the number of citizens returning from Ho Chi Minh City in the first phase remains unchanged (about 1,000 people), there will be 5 flights to pick up the returning citizens.

Currently, epidemic prevention work atVinh airportare being carried out synchronously. Previously, at the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Nghe An province on July 28, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed that the province would initially welcome about 1,000 people from Ho Chi Minh City to return to their hometowns in 2 groups. The first group prioritizes people with serious illnesses, long-term illnesses; pregnant women, women with young children; the elderly, people with disabilities, and children with about 600 people. The second group is those who have the conditions and ability to pay for air tickets, quarantine, testing, and other expenses. The expected time of arrival is early August 2021.

Regarding transportation, the province agreed that the first phase will transport these subjects back to their hometowns by plane. For the first group, the entire airfare will be supported, from the following sources: the provincial Covid-19 prevention and control fund; and businesses with a heart to contribute. For the second group, they must pay for their own airfare and return according to the plan registered and agreed with the airline.

Due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, in July 2021, there were only 6 flights through Vinh airport, including 5 domestic flights and 1 international flight with a total of 306 departing passengers and 678 arriving passengers. The most recent flight on July 12 was a flight carrying doctors to support the epidemic area, the most recent commercial flight was on July 8.
