Vinh City People's Council opens the second session, term 2021 - 2026

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 4, the City People's Council held the second session for the 2021-2026 term to assess the socio-economic performance in the first 6 months of the year, tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of 2021 and consider and decide on a number of issues under its authority.

Comrade Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were delegates of the Provincial People's Council elected in Vinh City.

The socio-economic report for the first 6 months of the year was presented at the meeting, although in the context of focusing on the election of deputies to the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels, especially the epidemic.Covid-19outbreak, but the city has been proactive, flexible, and resolute in directing and operating to ensure both effective epidemic prevention and the implementation of the city's political tasks.

Vinh Cityalso actively worked with central ministries and branches to complete procedures to submit to the Prime Minister for approval of the pre-feasibility study report of the Priority Infrastructure and Urban Development Project adapting to climate change in the city.

The city's socio-economic development targets and tasks in the first 6 months continued to develop. The economic growth rate reached 8.49%. Budget revenue is estimated at over 1,500 billion VND, up 27.4% over the same period.

The city also focused on completing 48/87 projects in the 2021 public investment plan; resolutely directing the acceleration of construction progress of key projects, such as the Vinh - Cua Lo connecting road, the extended Nguyen Sy Sach road, upgrading the remaining section of Ho Tung Mau road; continuing to improve the drainage system, urban embellishment projects, etc.

The city continues to take care of the cultural and social fields; inspection and judicial activities; national defense - security, and social order and safety.

The report also frankly pointed out that the direction, management, consultation and implementation of some areas were not drastic and slow.

Discipline and administrative discipline of some departments, city-level units and some wards and communes are sometimes not strict; implementation of administrative orders by some cadres and civil servants is sometimes slow, not proactive, and of low quality.

The work of handling petitions for some departments, units, wards and communes, along with some verification teams, is still slow and prolonged; there are still cases that need to be re-directed for resolution.

The city also clearly identified tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of the year with the goal of both drastically implementing effective measures to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and promoting socio-economic development.

The focus is on coordinating relevant departments, branches and units to speed up the implementation of Decision No. 827/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister to promote economic development, especiallynight economy; transform market management model; issue project on safe vegetable production, ornamental plants and flowers associated with suburban craft villages.

The city will pilot the Advanced School following the international integration trend in the area.

This morning, the City People's Council continued to listen to reports related to finance and budget; receiving people, handling complaints and denunciations in the area; inspection reports of the City People's Council committees on reports and submissions submitted at the session; reports on submissions and draft resolutions submitted to the session.

The second session of the 22nd City People's Council, term 2021 - 2026, took place on August 4 and 5 to discuss, consider and approve many important contents, including 8 resolutions on socio-economic issues.
