Vinh City Police arrested a gang responsible for 35 motorbike thefts hidden in hospitals and rented rooms.
(Baonghean.vn) - 35 motorbike thefts in Vinh city and Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen districts, Cua Lo town and Nghi Xuan district (Ha Tinh) were hidden by Truong and his accomplices in rented rooms and hospitals in Vinh city.
On August 4, 2021, Vinh City Police said that the unit is temporarily detaining 03 subjects including Hoang Khac Truong (born in 1997), residing in Thanh Tien commune, Thanh Chuong district; Le Van Nho (born in 1998), residing in Thanh Lam commune, Thanh Chuong district; Tran Van Lap (born in 1999), residing in Vinh Tan ward, Vinh city, to investigate the behavior.theft of property.

Previously, since the beginning of February 2021, the Criminal Police Team of Vinh City Police received many reports from people about thieves stealing motorbikes left in their homes, offices, apartment buildings, etc. Among them were many expensive motorbikes such as SH motorbikes. Although the motorbikes were equipped with security locks and anti-theft, they were all easily stolen. Faced with the above situation, under the direction of the leaders of Vinh City Police, the Criminal Police Team established a special project to mobilize maximum forces to verify and investigate.
During the investigation, the Criminal Police Team received a report from Mr. THH, residing in Ben Thuy ward, that at 4:30 p.m. on August 1, 2021, Mr. H. left his Exiter motorbike in the backyard of Thinh Phat apartment building, Ben Thuy ward and it was stolen. Mr. H. said that he had locked the motorbike, went to his room to rest for about 30 minutes and when he came down to get the motorbike, it was gone.
During the investigation, the task force encountered many difficulties because the motorbike thieves did not leave many traces, and there were no images related to the subjects committing the crime. At the same time, the complicated development of the Covid-19 epidemic also caused many obstacles to the investigation.

On August 2, 2021, under the direct direction of Major General Pham The Tung, Director of the Provincial Police, working groups of Vinh City Police simultaneously arrested 3 subjects Hoang Khac Truong, Le Van Nho and Tran Van Lap for theft of property, confiscating 6 motorbikes of various types and many lock-breaking tools. Continuing to expand the investigation, by August 4, 2021, Vinh City Police had recovered 19 motorbikes as evidence stolen by the above subjects.
In this case, Hoang Khac Truong was the mastermind and leader of the gang of thieves. Truong provided the lock-breaking tool, informed the location and asked the other subjects to commit the theft. After stealing the motorbike, Truong and his accomplices hid the motorbike in a rented room in Nghi Kim commune, Vinh city.
Because the room is small, about 10m2could only hold about 06 motorbikes, so after stealing many other motorbikes, Truong asked his accomplices to hide them at hospitals in Vinh city. When he found a consumer, he took the motorbikes to sell.

Up to now, Vinh City Police have recovered 25 motorbikes of various types, including 06 Honda SH motorbikes. Currently, the City Police are continuing to verify and recover the stolen motorbikes that the subjects have sold.
At the investigation agency, the subjects admitted to having committed 35 motorbike thefts in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.
