The Party cell of Pa Khom village, Tri Le commune - a Mong village with 93 households and 524 people, realized that forest management and protection and environmental protection were urgent issues. The Party cell held a meeting and issued a specialized resolution on forest management and environmental protection; especially the issue of protecting and developing bitter bamboo shoots in the area bordering the village.
To put the Resolution into practice, the Pa Khom village Party Cell assigned responsibility to each cadre and party member to take the lead in promoting and mobilizing each household to sign the commitment and implement it.

Mr. Xong Gia Po - Secretary of the Pa Khom village Party Cell said: Previously, people's awareness and responsibility for forest management and protection were limited, especially bitter bamboo shoots were often cut down to burn for farming. Since the Party Cell issued a special resolution, bitter bamboo shoots have increasingly covered the area around the village; more and more traders come to buy them, and the price is high.
Since then, people have become aware of protecting the forest and developing bitter bamboo shoots, partly to bring economic efficiency, partly to protect the environment, and create fresh air. Now, the bitter bamboo shoot forest of Pa Khom village has increased in area from 5.3 hectares in 2018 to 11.7 hectares. Of which, some households such as Tho Nhia Thong, Gia Y Cho, and Chia Nenh... have 1-1.5 hectares of bitter bamboo shoot forest, harvesting 9-12 tons per year, with an average price of 8,000-12,000 VND/kg.
