'Golden' progress on National Highway 15A upgrade
(Baonghean.vn) - On National Highway 15A, which is being renovated and upgraded through Nghe An, many contractor machines are operating. The project is assessed by the Ministry of Transport as having a golden progress in disbursement.
National Highway 15 (also known as 15A) is a national arterial road starting from Tong Dau, Km125 National Highway 6 - Hoa Binh province to Cam Lo, Quang Tri province through Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh provinces.
If National Highway A connects provincial towns, National Highway 15A runs almost parallel to National Highway 1A and connects mountainous towns.
This route is considered the Ho Chi Minh trail during the anti-American war, where thousands of young volunteers were tasked with clearing the way, ensuring the lifeline to transport goods and equipment to the southern battlefield, creating the Great Spring Victory of 1975.

In Nghe An, the route passes through many famous historical sites such asTruong Bon, Km 0 (formerly).
After many years of construction, the route has degraded and is prone to many traffic accidents, so the Ministry of Transport has included it in the investment and upgrade plan.

Upgrade and Expansion ProjectQL15ASection Km301+500 - Km333+200, Nghe An province aims to contribute to completing the road network, promoting socio-economic development of the area the route passes through, ensuring national security and defense; Meeting the needs of future traffic development.
The project was approved in Decision 268/QD-BGTVT dated January 29, 2013 of the Ministry of Transport with the scale of a level IV plain road, Bnền = 9m, Bmặt = 8m. Length 31.7 km, and approved for adjustment according to Decision 821/QD-BGTVT dated April 29, 2020.

Phase 1: 15.1km invested; Phase 2 is being implemented from Km301+500- Km315+700 and Km327+600- Km330+00.
The capital allocated in 2021 is 286 billion VND. Up to now, 161,849/286,641 billion VND has been disbursed (56%), which is one of the projects that ensures the disbursement exceeds the progress of the Ministry of Transport (currently 56% has been disbursed, while by the end of July, the average disbursement level of the Ministry of Transport was 44%).
Currently, taking advantage of favorable weather, contractors are focusing on speeding up construction progress, with motorbikes working day and night at the construction site to strive to basically complete the project before Lunar New Year (contract from June 15, 2021, implementation period of 15 months). The completed route has beautiful asphalt pavement, traffic is extremely convenient. Currently, there are still some households in Nam Dan district stuck due to the route straightening and expanding, Nam Dan district is organizing to mobilize people, if there is no consensus, it will be forced.
