(Baonghean.vn) - Despite simultaneously implementing numerous programs and tasks, the trade union officials of Nghia Dan district have achieved remarkable and noteworthy results thanks to their dedication.
"It has to be done!"
That was the view of the head of the Nghia Dan District Labor Union, Mr. Tran Van Duong, when sharing his thoughts on the role of the labor union organization. Mr. Duong emphasized: “The unique characteristic of the Nghia Dan District Labor Union is that there are few businesses, but mostly large-scale enterprises with a large number of workers across a wide area. To stir up the movement, create influence, and build trust among workers and business owners, labor union officials must be truly dedicated, capable of delivering on their promises, and producing tangible results!”

These days, with a large number of workers returning from epidemic areas, the situation is evolving.Covid-19 pandemicWith the situation becoming increasingly complex, the Nghia Dan District Labor Union continues to stand alongside the people and the government, donating essential supplies and food to quarantine areas and sharing with frontline forces fighting the epidemic. Leveraging their prestige, the Nghia Dan District Labor Union officials have successfully solicited support from many philanthropists and people from other localities. The meaningful and humane nature of these activities has contributed to leaving a lasting impression of the labor union's blue uniform in the hearts of the people of Phu Quy.
For many years, the Nghia Dan District Labor Union has concretely fulfilled its role in caring for workers through numerous practical and effective programs. During the 2021 Workers' Month, the Nghia Dan District Labor Union supported the construction of a new "Labor Union Shelter" house with a budget of 40 million VND; donated 115 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, to workers in difficult circumstances; provided 4 million VND to 4 families of union members facing extreme hardship; donated 4 million VND to 7 children of union members suffering from serious illnesses; visited workers in rented housing areas and presented 21 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND; encouraged 8 workers at waste treatment companies in the area, each receiving a gift worth 300,000 VND; and implemented the "Cooling Down Summer" program, providing 1,000 glasses of milk and 600 cups of sugarcane juice to workers.
In addition to the general programs of the trade union system,Nghia Dan District Labor UnionFurthermore, the union encourages and supports grassroots unions in organizing many creative and impactful activities such as: responding to "International Happiness Day" with the theme "Happy TH Employees" (a program organized by the Trade Union of TH Milk Joint Stock Company); organizing a contest "Writing about a beloved colleague", charitable activities "Connecting love - spreading happiness", a workplace decoration contest, etc.

During Workers' Month 2021, the District Labor Union issued a document and encouraged grassroots unions to mobilize members and workers to actively participate in "rescuing" 90 tons of Phu Quoc tangerines (worth 1.5 billion VND) for union members and farmers in the district. Like many other activities, this initiative created a strong ripple effect in the community. The images of sweaty faces frantically making phone calls, transporting rescue goods, and union members in their blue shirts tirelessly donating, collecting, and loading relief supplies for people in the Covid-19 affected areas... left a positive impression.

The viewpoint of the head of the Nghia Dan Trade Union is also the spirit of all trade union officials here. This is what has created the special mark of the blue trade union uniform on the red soil of Phu Quy.
Pioneering in creative work
Not only did Nghia Dan District Labor Union stand out during Workers' Month, but it was also recognized by the Provincial Labor Union as a leading unit in the movement for skilled and innovative labor.
Large enterprises often prioritize and invest in technological innovation – this is also an advantage for the Nghia Dan District Labor Union. However, the challenge for the District Labor Union is that the majority of workers are not truly interested in the process of submitting applications for awards, despite the District Labor Union's regular encouragement and guidance. Explaining this, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Trang, Vice President of the Nghia Dan District Labor Union, said: “Some workers are afraid of wasting time, and some direct workers focus only on honing their skills and improving their expertise, but are not yet proficient in drafting and accessing documents, thus encountering difficulties in completing the dossiers for awarding commendations according to regulations. In addition, some business leaders and department heads are worried about revealing the unit's invention secrets. Some innovations are the result of the hard work and dedication of the entire department, but according to regulations, only the individual with the highest contribution is rewarded, causing difficulties and hindering the awarding of commendations to the right people.”

Understanding this mindset and reality, the District Labor Union assigned a dedicated officer knowledgeable in the field of awarding commendations to directly guide grassroots unions and workers with innovative ideas in accessing, updating, and completing the procedures for requesting recognition of their innovations. The District Labor Union also regularly informs, exchanges information, and makes proposals to enterprise leaders to create conditions for workers to quickly apply and access technology, and boldly try their hand at new scientific and technical improvements...
In 2020, Nghia Dan district had 11 scientific and technical innovation initiatives from workers in the enterprise sector that were recommended to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the Creative Labor Award, with a total value of nearly 20 billion VND in benefits. This was also thanks to the encouragement of the trade union officials of the Nghia Dan District Confederation of Labor and its members.workersThe district enthusiastically participated in the "75,000 Initiatives for Overcoming Difficulties and Development" program organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, submitting 404 high-quality and practical initiatives.

Sharing about the support and encouragement from the trade union in creating conditions for union members to have initiatives and ideas that contribute to improving work and increasing labor productivity, Mr. Nguyen Canh Tu - Chairman of the Trade Union of TH Milk Joint Stock Company said: “Thanks to the close attention of the District Labor Federation, we have implemented timely policies to encourage and reward workers based on the beneficial value of their initiatives, organizing the honoring of initiatives at the Workers' Conference, summarizing the production and business activities of the department and the company... In addition, we also assign one member of the Trade Union Executive Committee to directly monitor, encourage, and compile improvement initiatives from workers to complete the application dossier for recognition of creative labor in accordance with regulations.”
