Mr. Pham Cong Thai's family had to be quarantined, 5 sao of rice were ripening, so that the family could rest assured to comply with the quarantine to prevent and fight the Covid-19 epidemic, the Dong Tam Farmers' Association mobilized members to help him harvest rice. Some harvested, some bundled, some threshed rice, some dried straw... "If it weren't for the neighbors, I don't know how my family would have managed," said Mr. Thai.

Currently, 6 people in the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai in Dong Tam hamlet also have tocentralized quarantinewhen her husband and child tested positive for Covid-19. Her family farmed nearly 1 hectare of rice, the rice was ripe but due to Directive 16, the harvester could not be used. The Commune Farmers' Association and the Farmers' Association discussed with a household in the village that owned a harvester, prioritizing the harvest for Ms. Hoai's family first, drying straw and rice so that the family could feel secure in quarantine.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Ngo - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Boi Son Commune (Do Luong) said: "Currently, in the commune, there are hamlets Nhan Boi and Dong Tam where people have to be quarantined in a centralized manner and quarantined at home. More than 40 hectares of rice of the people of the two hamlets are in the harvest period. However, due to the implementation of Directive 16, harvesters from other places cannot enter, there is only one harvester in the area, so we discussed with the harvester owner, creating conditions for pre-harvesting for the quarantined households; mobilizing members of the branches to harvest by hand to help quarantined households; drying straw and rice for them... The Standing Committee of the Commune Farmers' Association has stepped up to buy oil for the harvester."

During this time, Mr. Truong Cong Ha's family in Van Nam hamlet, Nghia Hop commune (Tan Ky) had to quarantine at home. Meanwhile, more than 4 sao of black beans in the field were ready to be harvested, making him feel like he was "sitting on fire". "The characteristic of black beans is that they are harvested every day, every day there is a batch of ripe beans. If you don't harvest them in time, the shells will burst, the seeds will fall to the ground, germinate and shrivel. The effort of planting and caring for them for months will be wasted," Mr. Ha said over the phone.

Understanding his situation, the Farmers' Association of Nghia Hop commune mobilized members of Van Nam hamlet to harvest black beans to help Ha's family. Every day, 3-5 people would take turns going to the field to harvest black beans and bring them to Ha's family's gate, helping him feel secure in quarantine.

Currently, the entire Nghia Hop commune has 5 people in centralized quarantine, 5 families are quarantined at home. Meanwhile, many agricultural products in the area are in harvest season. To promptly support households in quarantine, the Commune Farmers' Association has mobilized members to contribute labor days to pick beans, vegetables and go to the fields to visit rice fields to help quarantined families.

Faced with the complicated developments of the epidemic, especially when Tan Ky district implemented social distancing according to Directive 15, to contribute to supporting farmer members, especially families with members who have to be quarantined in a centralized manner, families with members quarantined at home, the Standing Committee of the District Farmers' Association issued an official dispatch on "Effectively implementing production and measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic in the area". Accordingly, the associations and branches have their own ways to specifically support families who have to be quarantined to harvest agricultural products in time.summer-autumn crop progress.

“We directed the farmers' associations of communes to guide branches, cooperatives, and professional associations to establish teams and groups to help farmer members harvest crops in the summer-autumn crop, especially rice harvest, to avoid being passive in terms of harvesting human resources in epidemic conditions.

At the same time, connect to help farmers consume agricultural products of farmer association members in the area. Actively propagate and mobilize farmers to proactively plan winter crop production, grow more vegetables and other crops... according to the local production plan".

In Nghi Loc, in the fields of Nghi Lam and Nghi Thuan communes, people help each other harvest vegetables to supply to people in the district. "Vegetables are sold according to orders through the "Agricultural Support Group" in the whole district, so a large quantity is needed at the same time. If each family harvests by themselves, it will not be able to meet the demand, so we mobilize members to harvest in a rolling manner, today supporting this family to pull and pick vegetables, the next day it will be another family. As for the members of the Executive Committee of the Commune Farmers' Association, free shipperfor the people", Ms. Le Thi Hien - Chairwoman of the Farmers' Association of Nghi Thuan commune (Nghi Loc) said.

Amid the outbreak, the work of each citizen and the participation of authorities at all levels, especially the Farmers' Association, have ignited confidence and added strength for each person, each household, and each locality to overcome the epidemic. At the same time, the "dual" goal is to both effectively prevent and control the epidemic and ensure the progress of the summer-autumn harvest and winter crop production.
