Green shirt volunteers on the front line against the epidemic
(Baonghean.vn) - These days, at many Covid-19 epidemic control posts or some quarantine areas in the province, there are always green shirts of young volunteers on duty with functional forces on duty. Many young people have written volunteer applications to contribute their youth with the desire to contribute to repelling the epidemic.
Special application of an orphan boy
Orphaned at the age of 6 and the eldest child in the family, Le Van Thanh (born in 2002 in Hamlet 2, Tao Son Commune, Anh Son District) had to leave his hometown early to work in Vinh City. In early July, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, his work encountered many difficulties and interruptions, so he decided to return to his hometown. The land where he was born, which was once peaceful, has now begun to face many changes when there have been many positive cases of Covid-19.
During the days of social distancing at home, Thanh had a lot of time to update information about the epidemic in the locality and realized that he needed to contribute his efforts to support his hometown. Thanh shared: “Every time I read the newspaper and see many families falling into misery after losing loved ones due to the pandemic, I feel very heartbroken. Because I lost my mother at a very young age, I understand what it is like to lose a loved one. When I returned to my hometown and saw that the locality needed people to support epidemic prevention and control, I wrote a volunteer application with the hope of contributing a little bit to protect the peace of my hometown."

After submitting a volunteer application to join the fight against the epidemic, Thanh was assigned to support the checkpoint at Village 1 of Tao Son Commune. Thanh asked to be on duty at night to give up the day shift to others. That action multiplied the sense of responsibility of the young people here.
Le Van Thanh added that he was not worried about participating in support because he had been equipped with knowledge and skills to prevent and fight the Covid-19 epidemic. Moreover, if everyone is afraid and does not dare to participate in support, the epidemic cannot be pushed back. While on duty, witnessing many good deeds of people, although poor, still contributing bundles of vegetables or tubers, fruits to the kitchen in the quarantine area made Thanh feel even warmer and also encouraged other young people to participate in the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic in the locality.
