(Baonghean.vn) - Many traders hid the fact that they had been to Vinh wholesale market, but only found out they were infected with Covid-19 after testing.

On August 26, Ms. Tran Thi Anh Tuyet - Vice Chairman of Nghi Loc District People's Committee said that she had just issued many decisions to impose administrative penalties for failing to comply with measures to prevent and control infectious diseases as required by competent agencies and organizations.

Among them, there is the case of Nguyen Thi X. (35 years old, Toan Thang hamlet, Nghi Dien commune), who was fined 7.5 million VND. Ms. X. is currently F0, being treated at a field hospital.

This woman is a small trader who often visits Vinh wholesale market to buy goods. According to Ms. Tran Thi Anh Tuyet, on August 13, immediately after receiving information about an infection case at Vinh wholesale market, the Nghi Dien commune Covid-19 Prevention Steering Committee notified individuals and business households at high risk of Covid-19 infection to come and declare their health.

At the same time, the Community Tracing Team of the hamlet also came to notify and request Ms. X. to make a medical declaration, conduct a Covid-19 test and quarantine according to regulations. However, Ms. X. did not comply. It was not until August 15 that this trader came to make a medical declaration and complete the procedures according to regulations. The test results later showed that Ms. X. was infected with Covid-19. Not only that, the trader's husband and a child also tested positive.

According to the leaders of Nghi Loc district, recently, many cases have been discovered in the area, although related to Vinh wholesale market, they did not cooperate and did not declare their health. Among them, many cases later tested positive for Covid-19.

Specifically, in Nghi Thai commune, a 67-year-old man often went to Vinh wholesale market to buy fruit and then sold it on the street. When the wholesale market discovered an infected case, the authorities notified him many times but he still did not proactively declare his health. Neighbors came to advise him but he did not listen.

“After that, the commune police had to come to his house twice to ask him to make a declaration and take a sample for testing. But it was not until the afternoon of August 16 that he agreed to go to the commune to make a declaration,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Luc - Chairman of Nghi Thai Commune People's Committee. The test results a day later showed that he was infected with Covid-19. Currently, this patient is still being treated, and the authorities have not taken any action.

In Nghe An, in recent days, there have been consecutive cases of disease among traders related to wholesale markets, but they have refused to declare their health or have declared but have not complied with the local government's home quarantine regulations, causing a very high risk of spreading to the community.
