On the afternoon of August 27, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province had a meeting with Cua Lo town when the Covid-19 epidemic situation in the area continued to develop complicatedly.

Comrades Duong Dinh Chinh - Standing member of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, Director of Nghe An Department of Health; Pham Thi Hong Toan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Cua Lo Town Party Committee chaired the meeting.

According to the Town ReportCua Lo: Currently there are 38 cases of infection in the area.Covid-19(11 cases in centralized quarantine areas) and 27 community cases. 3/7 wards have cases... The entire town is currently quarantining and monitoring the health of 2,555 cases.

To prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, Cua Lo town has focused on tracing F1 and F2 cases, isolating them and taking samples for testing; strictly implementing social distancing, organizing rapid testing at agencies, units, and wards in the area...

Currently, the town has basically completed rapid antigen testing for the entire population of 5/7 wards (reaching a rate of 64.4% to 87.9%). Thu Thuy and Nghi Tan wards are continuing to deploy rapid testing.

On the morning of August 27, through rapid testing, Nghi Tan ward discovered 3 more people in a family suspected of having Covid-19. Cua Lo town took samples and sent them to Nghe An Center for Disease Control for PCR testing to confirm.

Cua Lo Town has been and is continuing to direct wards to focus on propaganda and mobilization of people to conduct rapid antigen testing to detect SARS-CoV-2 on a large scale with fees in the town to achieve the set plan; at the same time, develop a plan for the second phase of free rapid antigen testing; continue to do a good job of social security; organize Covid-19 vaccination for subjects according to Resolution 21.

At the meeting, the delegates focused on analyzing the infected cases and assessing the risk of the epidemic in Cua Lo town. Accordingly, most of the infected cases in Cua Lo town are related tomarketsin the area and surrounding areas. Nghi Thuy, Nghi Tan, Nghi Hai wards are considered to be at very high risk.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Duong Dinh Chinh highly appreciated the determination and solutions to fight the Covid-19 epidemic that Cua Lo town has deployed.

He requested that Cua Lo town continue to implement social distancing measures; strictly control and increase testing of traders at local markets. Cua Lo town police continue to step up investigation and tracing; make the most of the "golden time" of social distancing to collect samples for screening tests.

Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh noted: Before the second screening test, Cua Lo must carefully calculate and prepare really thoughtfully and scientifically to achieve a high rate. In addition, the town also needs to conduct free screening for all cases with abnormal symptoms right at the commune health station. In addition, Cua Lo town also needs to pay special attention to the spraying of disinfectants at traditional markets; ensure social security; strengthen inspection and communication of regulations on Covid-19 prevention.
