(Baonghean.vn) - The August Revolution of 1945 was a victory of the strength of great national unity that knew how to seize the opportunity, rise up to fight under the leadership of the Party, liberate the nation, liberate the class, liberate society. That is a very clear truth and reality.

It must be strongly affirmed that the success of the August Revolution in 1945 was due to the good implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies led by our Party and leader Ho Chi Minh.national unity, unite all patriotic forces, regardless of religion, political party tendency, class, unite all people in the National United Front to rise up to drive out French colonialists and Japanese fascists, overthrow nearly 100 years of imperialist and colonialist domination, regain power for the people, and gain complete independence for the Fatherland.

Although the way of expression in each period was different, since its inception, our Party has clearly defined the revolutionary task of overthrowing imperialism, colonialism and feudalism, taking power into the hands of the people, and bringing the people from slavery to becoming masters of the country. The goal that our Party defined is also the burning aspiration of the Vietnamese people. It is the unity between the Party's goal and the aspiration of the people that has become the thread that unites the entire Vietnamese nation. Throughout the leadership process, our Party has always been consistent and placed that content in the central task of the revolution. It cannot be denied that, from 1930 to 1945, the Viet Minh and our Party, headed by leader Ho Chi Minh, closely followed the developments of the world and domestic situation, had many correct and appropriate revolutionary policies, guidelines and solutions to lead the entire people to form a unified bloc to stand up and fight for victory.

In particular, in the face of the strong changes in the domestic situation and the great and rapid changes in the world situation that were beneficial to the Vietnamese revolution, in May 1941, the 8th Central Conference of the Party met under the chairmanship of leader Ho Chi Minh to decide on a change in strategic direction. The Conference Resolution clearly stated:“At this time, the interests of the sections and classes must be placed under the life and death, survival of the nation and people. At this time, if the problem of national liberation is not resolved, if independence and freedom for the entire nation are not demanded, not only will the entire nation and people continue to live the life of horses and buffaloes, but the interests of the sections and classes will not be reclaimed for ten thousand years.”

To achieve that goal and task, the problem is to gather and unite all forces and all social classes into a unified national front. To solve this problem, on May 19, 1941, the Viet Minh Front was born. In its statement, the Viet Minh clearly stated: "The Viet Minh advocates uniting all patriotic compatriots, regardless of rich or poor, old or young, male or female, regardless of religion or political orientation, to work together to seek national liberation and survival." With correct and creative policies in a short time, through the role of gathering and rallying of the Viet Minh Front, all social classes and strata have highly promoted the spirit of community cohesion, aroused the spirit of patriotism, the heroic and indomitable fighting spirit of the entire nation to contribute to the success of the revolution.

On the other hand, going back in history, we clearly see that great solidarity has become a traditional beauty of the Vietnamese people, proven through thousands of years of building and defending the country. "When the country is lost, the home is destroyed", every Vietnamese person is always aware and deeply conscious of that, and that spirit is always present in every Vietnamese person. Not only that, the relationship between "Country" and "Home" is also the glue that binds the entire Vietnamese people together tightly and firmly.

From historical practice, the Vietnamese people have also concluded that only by constantly building and consolidating the great national unity bloc can we gather and promote the country's internal strength, build and protect the country for peace, stability and prosperous development. It is on that foundation that our people did not accept the fate and life of slavery, wholeheartedly followed the Party, millions of people as one determined to rise up.fight for independence, freedom for the people, to gain mastery of the country, to control their own destiny.

The domestic and international situation poses both opportunities and challenges for our nation. In particular, in the current context, the Covid-19 pandemic has been evolving very complicatedly. In that context, on the one hand, we need to inherit and promote valuable lessons from the August Revolution of 1945, especially the lesson of promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, implementing the call of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and responding to the special emulation movement with the theme: "The whole country unites, joins hands, and is determined to compete to prevent, fight and defeat the Covid-19 pandemic" launched by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - Chairman of the Central Emulation and Commendation Council, calling on the entire Party, people and army to continue to join hands, be united, concentrate, and devote all their efforts to overcome the pandemic.
