At the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation, the Association of Vietnamese in Russia and representatives of associations have just summarized the implementation of the "Vietnam Unity" Project, donated money, purchased vaccines produced by Russia, and transferred them to the country, contributing to the goal of vaccination to achieve community immunity.

Speaking at the meeting held in person and online, Chairman of the Association, Mr. Do Xuan Hoang, said that in response to the call of the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia, after 2 months of launching and implementing donations from June 25 to August 25, through the "Tradition and Friendship" Fund, the project has received the response of more than 1,300 individuals and 13 businesses, with the amount collected of more than 10 million rubles (about 3.2 billion VND). Notably, the 2 companies "TH RUS Milk Food" and "Mareven Food Central" have donated 7 million rubles and 1 million rubles respectively.

This is the first time that the Vietnamese Association, in coordination with the Embassy, has organized an online donation project. Although there are difficulties, as many people are not familiar with electronic transactions, this method ensures high transparency, safety and good compliance with local laws.

Instead of donating in the traditional form, electronic donation allows for large-scale implementation, creating conditions for overseas Vietnamese from everywhere, including remote areas, to participate in contributing.

Contributions come from kind-hearted people, individuals and groups, from Vietnamese businessmen across Russia, such as Krasnodar province, Primorsky region, Sverdlovsk province, Saint Petersburg city, Irkutsk province, Bashkortostan Republic and many other provinces and cities...

Each person contributes according to their conditions, no matter how much or how little, but everyone agrees that the epidemic situation in the country is still very complicated and may last a long time. Therefore, Vietnamese people in Russia still hope to have more new donations, continue to contribute to the whole country to repel the epidemic, so that people and families can soon reunite, life can return to normal and work together to restore the economy.

Many opinions also believe that it is necessary to promote this form of online contribution more widely, to gather more sharing feelings of overseas Vietnamese for their homeland.

Speaking from Moscow, Mr. Nguyen Tung Lam, Counselor, Head of the Embassy's Community Affairs Department, highly appreciated the persistent efforts of each individual in the Vietnamese Association, closely implementing the project, contributing to encouraging and gathering the sentiments of overseas Vietnamese towards their homeland.

At the meeting, the Project Board and delegates agreed on the method of using the donated money to suit the original purpose of the project, as well as to promptly respond to the new situation due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic in Vietnam. The entire amount will be used to buy vaccines, medicines or medical equipment from Russia and sent back to the country as soon as possible.

In addition to contributing through the Vietnamese Association, overseas Vietnamese in many provinces and cities in Russia have also voluntarily donated among community groups in different ways. Among them, more than 200 individuals and households in Pyatigorsk province, after only 2 days of self-donation, have collected more than 4,000 USD, sending back to support our compatriots in the South.

Sharing about this work, Mr. and Mrs. Ha Minh Huan, Ms. Pham Dung, Ms. Pham Thi Huyen, Ms. Hoang Trong, Ms. Thanh Son... said that although they are far from their homeland, they always follow the situation in the country, hoping to help their compatriots who are facing the Covid-19 epidemic.

The project "Vietnam Unity" has ended, but certainly the Vietnamese community in Russia will still be together, every individual will unite into a collective, united and always looking towards the homeland./.
