Nghe An's special opening ceremony at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 5, at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training held the Opening Ceremony of the new school year 2021-2022. This is the only opening ceremony held in Nghe An and was broadcast live to the entire province.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrades who are members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Nam Dinh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee. Also attending were comrades: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training.
An unprecedented school year
In a special context,opening ceremonyThis year, only 8 students from Hung Dung Primary and Secondary School, Dang Thai Mai Secondary School, and Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, representing more than 850,000 students across the province, participated.
The 2021-2022 school year is an unprecedented school year when the Covid-19 pandemic is developing very complicatedly across the country and in many localities, including Nghe An, students cannot go to school and have to switch to the form ofonline learningDespite many difficulties, this school year, Nghe An Education Department is still determined to make efforts to "temporarily stop going to school but not stop learning".

Although the education sector of the whole country is currently in a very difficult time, overcoming the challenges, the letter of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has conveyed confidence, hope and determination for the 2021-2022 school year. Thereby, to achieve the goal of "not letting any child, especially those in epidemic areas, remote areas, and those in difficult circumstances, completely lose the opportunity to study due to the pandemic and especially not letting the Vietnamese education system because of the pandemic be unable to fulfill its commitment, responsibility and mission to the Fatherland and the People".

On behalf of more than 53,000 cadres and teachers in the entire education sector, speaking at the opening ceremony, teacher Ngo Sy Thuy - Principal of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted delivered the opening speech. He highlighted the achievements of Nghe An's education sector in the 2020-2021 school year when Nghe An continued to be in the top position nationwide in terms of excellent students with 5 Gold and Silver Medals at regional and international Olympic competitions. The quality of comprehensive education has been improved. The work of universalizing education, encouraging learning and talent, and building a learning society has changed positively. The whole sector has effectively implemented the construction of new education models towards regional and international integration. This is also the premise and creates confidence for Nghe An's education sector to enter the new school year with the hope of good results.
No matter how difficult the circumstances, education must still move forward.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee shared with the entire education sector when entering the new school year in a special context. The epidemic has also affected the entire education sector for the past two years and "has had a profound impact on all aspects of social life, threatening and greatly affecting the teaching career". However, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also affirmed that in the past time, with high determination in the work of epidemic prevention and control, with very bold but accurate and wise decisions, flexible and creative measures of the education sector and Party committees and authorities at all levels, along with the unanimous support and sharing of the people and parents, Nghe An has had a successful school year.
Through that, comrade Nguyen Van Thong also praised the achievements in the teaching career of the province and sent his thanks to the teachers, cadres and employees of the education sector, the political system and the people who have been united, joined hands, shared difficulties, overcome challenges and achieved important results.

In the current context, comrade Nguyen Van Thong also said that the 2021-2022 school year begins with many major challenges that need to be solved. That is, conducting teaching and learning activities in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic spreading rapidly with dangerous variants, it threatens to disrupt social activities at any time and threatens the safety of life and health. The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also shares the concerns of parents and students, but at the same time affirms that in any circumstance, "children cannot be left out of school and need to approach the problem in the most positive way in each specific situation so that the education cause can continue to move forward".

With the above special characteristics, on the eve of the new school year, Mr. Nguyen Van Thong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, hopes that Party committees, authorities, and organizations at all levels will pay utmost attention and dedicate the best spiritual and material benefits to the teaching career of the provincial education sector.
Besides, we hope that the people and parents will continue to be united, trust, share, understand, and thoroughly overcome the mentality of leaving the education of children to schools and join hands with the education sector to overcome difficulties because "the role of family and society is extremely important in determining the quality and results of education".
On the part of the education sector, comrade Nguyen Van Thong suggested that educational institutions and teachers, cadres and employees continue to promote flexibility, creativity and science in management as well as in knowledge transfer, in the noble cause of "cultivating people". Organizing teaching and learning in special situations such as epidemics and floods must be suitable for each region, even each group of students.

At the opening ceremony, comrade Nguyen Van Thong also had some words to say to the students. Referring to the issue of “pressure” in studying, he also shared about the hardships of students when having to “face the expectations, the desires, of adults, and the pressure from the program”.
