Khe Bo Hydropower Plant is ready to respond to natural disasters.
(Baonghean.vn) - Disaster prevention, control and search and rescue (PCTT - TKCN) work has been given special attention by Khe Bo Hydropower Plant, in which the motto "4 on-site" and "3 ready" has basically met the requirements, promptly responding when natural disasters occur.
The motto of "4 on-site" (on-site command; on-site forces; on-site materials and means; on-site logistics) and "3 readiness" (proactive prevention, timely response, urgent and effective remediation) has been consistent throughout the process of implementing PCTT - TKCN inKhe Bo Hydropower PlantTherefore, from the beginning of 2021, the factory has developed a plan to implement disaster prevention and control work, including assigning specific tasks to each department; perfecting the command board and disaster prevention and control teams; and preparing a report to assess the entire dam and its current status.dam safetybefore the rainy season

Along with that, it is necessary to develop and promulgate a natural disaster response plan, organize a comprehensive inspection of the equipment system and Khe Bo hydropower project before the 2021 flood season; check the grounding and lightning protection systems, check the material warehouses and have fully prepared materials, tools, equipment and means according to the approved natural disaster response plan...
The factory also always focuses on repair and maintenance to ensure that the construction system, equipment; communication system; reservoir monitoring camera; flood warning system downstream of the dam; main and backup power sources supplying the spillway always operate stably, reliably, ready to respond when natural disasters occur.
Timely report to Vietnam Electricity Development Joint Stock Company to review and adjust the operating process of Khe Bo Hydropower Reservoir and is appraising it to submit to Nghe An Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval. The plant has organized an inter-agency meeting to summarize the PCTT - TKCN work in 2020 and propose directions and tasks for 2021 (indirectly).

The factory has established a 6-member PCTT - TKCN Command Board and a 9-member Rapid Response Team, which has coordinated very effectively in the past. In addition, this is the force responsible for coordinating with local authorities and people in implementing PCTT - TKCN in the area.
The factory also proactively implemented plans to ensure safety and prevent natural disasters in the context of complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic; to achieve the dual goal, from June 1, 2021, the Company has implemented centralized isolation of all officers and employees for production activities; thereby, ensuring resources are ready to mobilize when natural disasters occur.

Every year, workers are equipped with skills to handle unexpected situations when floods occur through conducting disaster response drills. On-site PCTT - TKCN personnel are fully equipped with means and tools to promptly handle damage or incidents that may endanger the construction.
Right from the beginning of the rainy season, the on-duty staff closely followed the inter-reservoir operation process on the Ca River basin and regulated the Khe Bo Hydropower Reservoir. Every day, the plant prepared hydrological bulletins to forecast floods in the reservoir, monitored parameters related to reservoir operations and transmitted them online to the Department of Water Resources Management of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment according to regulations.

In recent times, with the timely attention and support of Vietnam Electricity Development Joint Stock Company and local authorities, Khe Bo Hydropower Plant has performed well in disaster prevention and control. These results have significantly contributed to the safe and effective operation of the plant to meet production needs in a timely manner. In the first 8 months of 2021, the electricity output of Khe Bo Hydropower Plant was more than 248 million kWh (reaching 121.04% of the plan for the first 8 months of the year). This is a driving force for the collective of officials and employees of the plant to strive to complete the production tasks of 2021.
