According to the synthesis ofDepartment of Education and TrainingBy this afternoon, more than 45,000 teachers and staff working at schools had completed the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, reaching a rate of over 90%. Particularly, the education and training departments achieved a rate of over 97%.

Of these, about 2,000 teachers have completed the second dose. It is expected that after enough time, localities will continue to create conditions for teachers to complete the two doses of Covid-19 vaccine as prescribed.

This is an effort by localities to prioritizevaccinationfor staff and teachers working at schools. This will help ensure safety for schools and help parents and students feel secure when returning to school.

Currently, over 80% of localities in Nghe An have organized normal teaching and learning and it is expected that early next week, 21/21 districts, cities and towns in the whole province will simultaneously implement direct teaching.

Previously, at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year, to ensure health safety and encourage the spirit of the teaching staff to strive to complete the tasks of the 2021-2022 school year, the Department of Education and Training sent a document requesting the Nghe An Department of Health to coordinate with the Provincial People's Committee to prioritize Covid-19 vaccination (first dose) for the teaching staff working at educational institutions in the province, before entering the 2021-2022 school year.

At the beginning of the school year, the total number of teachers in the province was over 52,000 people, but the number of cadres, teachers, and employees who had received the first injection was only about 650 people - a very small proportion and mainly teachers who were given priority for vaccination when performing the task of marking exams for the 2021 High School Graduation Exam.

Currently, the number of teachers who have not completed the first dose is mainly concentrated in high schools and some non-public schools. In addition, there are some teachers who have not been vaccinated due to health reasons or underlying medical conditions.
