Viet Duc Hospital fined 14 million VND related to Covid-19 case
Regarding the outbreak at the Vietnam - Germany Friendship Hospital, on the afternoon of October 3, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi City issued a decision to impose administrative sanctions in the health sector against the Vietnam - Germany Friendship Hospital.
This is the first time local authorities have decided to impose administrative penalties on a hospital with a Covid-19 infection case.
Accordingly, the Vietnam - Germany Friendship Hospital located at 40 Trang Thi, Hang Bong Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi City, the person responsible for technical expertise is the Director, Doctor Tran Binh Giang, was administratively fined 14 million VND.

The reason for being punished for administrative violations is due to not notifying the competent State health agency when detecting the environment containing infectious agents of group A, people with infectious diseases of group A, people suspected of having infectious diseases of group A, people carrying infectious pathogens of group A, specifically in this case, people infected with Covid-19. The decision of Hoan Kiem district determined that the administrative violation was large-scale and complex in nature.
Previously, from 1 Covid-19 case who was a caregiver at the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital, 30 more related cases were discovered.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, a number of hospitals in Hanoi have detected patients, medical staff, and patients' relatives infected with Covid-19, such as Bach Mai Hospital, Hanoi Lung Hospital, etc. However, this is the first time the local government has issued a decision to impose administrative sanctions in the health sector on a hospital with a Covid-19 case./.
