Russia responds to Navalny poisoning
(Baonghean.vn) - Two days before the deadline (set by the countries), Russia has given an appropriate and legal response to the request of 45 countries regarding the poisoning of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny.
On October 7, in an interview with TASS news agency, Russia's permanent representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Alexander Shulgin announced that Moscow had provided a response to the requests of the relevant countries - including OPCW member states - regarding the poisoning of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny. According to Mr. Shulgin, Russia has also made separate requests to Germany, France, Sweden and the OPCW Technical Steering Committee.

"Today, two days before the deadline, Russia has given a proper and legitimate response to the request of 45 countries. At the same time, we have also submitted our own request. With the participation of all members of the OPCW Executive Board, we have once again sent a list of questions to Germany, France and Sweden regarding this ambiguous story and their role in the performance in which they themselves are actors. We expect a thorough and complete answer. The questions we asked earlier remain relevant today. However, we have added a number of new questions related to new details in the Navalny case," Shulgin stressed.
Western countries have long believed that opposition figure Navalny was poisoned in Russia with the Soviet-era nerve agent Novichok in August 2020. Mr. Navalny was treated in Germany before returning to Russia, where he is currently in prison. For its part, Moscow has always denied any involvement in Mr. Navalny's poisoning./.
