Vinamilk affirms its reputation in export, stable growth during the pandemic

(Baonghean.vn) - Continuing to be evaluated as a prestigious export enterprise in the dairy industry, Vinamilk shows its strengths after nearly 25 years of fighting in the international market and its bravery in the face of the "wave" of Covid-19 in the past nearly 2 years.

Impressive results in export activities

The global Covid-19 crisis has entered its second year with a series of issues related to production, supply chains, etc. creating "barriers" for the export sector. However, on the other hand, the challenges posed by Covid-19 are a test for businesses on their "health", "durability" and ability to cope in the most difficult times.

As a representative of the dairy industry, Vinamilk's export results against the Covid-19 tide are a clear demonstration of its business mettle and reputation in the international market. In 2020, exports contributed VND5,561 billion to the company's total revenue, up 7.4% compared to 2019. In the first 6 months of 2021, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic once again causing the economy to falter, Vinamilk's export activities made a strong impression with double-digit growth, reaching VND2,772 billion.

Vinamilk's export revenue has grown over the past 5 years, reaching a cumulative 2.5 billion USD since it began exporting.

Earlier this year, a shipment of 10 containers of premium nut milk and condensed milk exported to China showed positive signs for the international business. Following that, the premium product line Sterilized Fresh Milk containing bird’s nest was first available on shelves in Singapore – a market considered to be one of the most “difficult” in Southeast Asia.

In the second quarter of 2021, hundreds of containers of condensed milk continued to be shipped, and new products such as nut milk and probiotic yogurt continued to be exported to many countries. At the end of July, under the peak of social distancing, Vinamilk completed exporting a large shipment to its joint venture company in the Philippines, Del Monte Vinamilk Dairy Philippines Inc., marking a new step forward in export business activities to exploit this potential market.

According to the recent "Prestigious Export Enterprise" 2020 evaluation program of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vinamilk continues to be recognized in the export sector of the dairy industry. This is also the 5th time Vinamilk has appeared in this list, showing the positive contributions of the enterprise to the overall export development of the entire industry. Previously, Vinamilk also appeared in the Asian Export Awards, with the success of condensed milk products in the international market.

Go further with prestige, go faster with agility

It can be said that behind the success of international business contracts worth millions of dollars is the combination of seizing growth opportunities and affirming business reputation. These two factors show Vinamilk's business mettle throughout 25 years of "fighting" internationally and especially the "testing fire" period that lasted nearly 2 years due to the Covid-19 incident.

Recently, Vinamilk has successfully researched a line of condensed coconut milk products, exporting them to the Japanese market to meet strict standards and serve the growing demand for plant-based milk, for vegetarians, or those allergic to cow's milk protein.

The company has taken advantage of opportunities in export markets, as well as quickly launched products in areas with broken supply chains. In addition, it has a policy of "standing shoulder to shoulder" with partners, sharing difficulties. Thanks to that, Vinamilk's export sales and new orders have continuously increased even in areas affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.

It can be said that from the starting point that Vietnam was a milk importing country, up to now, Vinamilk has not only led the domestic market but also brought products to 56 countries and territories, with a total accumulated export turnover of more than 2.5 billion USD and increasingly affirmed the brand and reputation of Vietnamese milk in the international market.
