(Baonghean.vn) - The impact of storm No. 8 has caused widespread rain in Nghe An. Some hydroelectric plants have announced flood discharge to ensure reservoir safety.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence ofstorm number 8So on October 14-15, Nghe An area will have heavy to very heavy rain, with average rainfall of 100-200mm/period.

In Que Phong, Chau Thang Hydropower Plant has just announced its flood discharge plan. The flood discharge is expected to take place at 1:00 p.m. today, October 14, 2021. The total discharge volume is from 76m3/s to 700m3/s, including discharge flow through the valve gate and power generation flow through the generators; may change according to the water flow to the lake. Flood discharge time until the end of the impact of storm No. 8 and the circulation caused by storm No. 8.

Ban Coc and Song Quang hydroelectric reservoirs (Que Phong district) also discharged floodwaters from 12:30 noon today.

At the same time, in Con Cuong district, Chi Khe Hydropower Plant has just issued a notice on reservoir water regulation operation. The reservoir regulation operation of Chi Khe Hydropower Plant began at 12:30 on October 14. The expected discharge flow is about 500m3/s to 1,000m3/s and may change depending on the water flow to the lake. The time ends when the water flow to Chi Khe Lake drops below 500m3/s, to maintain the normal water level at 38.00m.
