Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Canh Phu - Rector of Vinh Medical University, stated: "The past academic year was full of difficulties and challenges due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, with the efforts, overcoming difficulties, and responsibility of the teaching staff and management, and the determination and hard work of the students and trainees, Vinh Medical University has organized and implemented training activities in a flexible and appropriate manner. As a result, training and scientific research have been maintained on schedule and with guaranteed quality."

At the same time, faculty, staff, and students of the university actively volunteered to participate in epidemic prevention and control work in localities inside and outside the province.
Recently, the school held a graduation ceremony for 889 students, with 94.8% achieving good or excellent grades. During the academic year, there were 20 basic-level research projects, with 8 lecturers participating in 4 projects recognized as provincial-level innovations; 3 projects won the Nghe An Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Award. The school completed its external evaluation and received certification for educational institution accreditation according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The 2020-2021 academic year also marks a significant milestone in the 60-year history of the university's formation and development, simultaneously opening a new phase: a phase of reforming the governance system, preparing the conditions for university autonomy; improving the quality of training, innovating undergraduate and postgraduate training programs; promoting scientific and technological activities, and gradually investing in building the university's brand.

In the 2021-2022 academic year, the school continued to implement comprehensive solutions to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic, while continuing to innovate and persistently pursue the goal of quality education and training.
Successfully completing the tasks of the 2021-2022 academic year will be an important prerequisite for implementing the school's development strategy for the 2021-2025 period; aiming to build and develop Vinh Medical University into a multi-disciplinary, multi-level training institution that meets the needs for medical human resources, contributing to protecting, caring for, and improving the health of the people.
Also at the ceremony, Vinh Medical University awarded prizes to 6 students who achieved the highest scores in the 2021 entrance exam season; and awarded prizes to 12 students who achieved excellent results in the 2020-2021 academic year.
