OCOP brand from hometown agricultural products


Nghi My is a land with great potential for agricultural products, but it is always unstable because of the good harvest but low prices, and it is not of high value when most of it is sold in raw form... Seeing that very clearly, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hang had the idea of ​​purchasing clean local agricultural products to produce nutritious foods. In 2016, Ms. Hang started collecting seeds to roast on a stove and pan, and hired someone to grind the seeds into cereals to serve her family and acquaintances. After that, this product was highly trusted by people in the area.

On that basis, in 2019, she decided to invest in a production facility in her own home with an area of ​​100m2.2,Installed 5 grinders and created jobs for people in the commune and more than 100 distributors in the province and the country. In 2020, Ms. Hang continued to expand the workshop by 300m2and install additional equipment to meet market needs.

In 2021, the dynamic woman decided to establish Mami Farm Company Limited and upgrade the product to a convenient package, adding rock sugar and molasses from Nghe An, safe and convenient; at the same time, investing in a modern closed production line, meeting food safety and hygiene standards, with 7 permanent employees and more than 500 collaborators distributing products nationwide. With a stable market, the company has become a specialized address for purchasing agricultural products, helping people stabilize output, creating income for workers in Nghi My commune.

Product Highlightscerealis a combination of 25 types of agricultural seeds collected from the commune and neighboring areas combined with high-quality imported seeds, the product provides nutrition, ensuring it is both delicious, convenient and full of nutrition. Recently, the Council evaluated and ranked the productOCOPNghi Loc district has evaluated the products registered to participate in the OCOP Program in the district, 2 products achieved 4-star rating are convenient nutritional cereal powder, high-class cereal set of Mami Farm Company Limited.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hang shared: “Along with promoting our own resources, during our operations, we have always received attention and support in all aspects from relevant levels and sectors. The company is supported by the Cooperative Alliance, Women's Union, Creative Startup Investment Fund... to access capital, so it has advantages in production and business. In the coming time, the company plans to continue researching to upgrade products suitable for all customers, expand production scale, cooperate with cooperatives to grow standard agricultural products and create jobs for people, and have a more stable output for agricultural products. The unit also strives to make Mami Farm products a trusted cereal brand in the Vietnamese market - the pride of the homeland and will be exported abroad".

One commune one product

According to the province's orientation, Nghi Loc district has 9 products participating in the OCOP Program of Nghe An province. Through comparison with current reality, there are 3 products that are no longer produced or the address of the production entity is unknown (town furniture wood, Thien Tam fine art stone, Nghi Hoa cucumber); 1 product has many difficulties in production and consumption (Nghi Hung broom); 5 products can participate and have the potential to be recognized as OCOP products (including Nghi Kieu turmeric starch, Nghi Lam shallots, Nghi Kieu herbal rice, Nghi Kieu high-quality rice, Nghi Thai rattan and bamboo).

Implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, the district has reviewed the communes that have registered products to participate in the program, but through comparison with the current product classification criteria, there is 1 product, a wooden spoon set of Hong Son Production and Trading Company Limited, which has achieved 3rd place (61 points); 5 products have achieved 2-star rank (30 to 49 points); 9 products have achieved 1-star rank (less than 30 points). To achieve the goal of each commune having at least one product participating in the OCOP Program, the district is orienting 22 more products, among which, there are a number of products and services that are well evaluated and have the potential to soon become products with high OCOP rankings such as: Melon (Hung Thanh Private Enterprise, Khanh Hop), Dam Buoi eco-tourism (Nghi Van), Dai Hue eco-tourism (Nghi Hung)...

To effectively implement the Nghi Loc District OCOP Program for the period 2021-2025, the district has recently developed an implementation project and specified it in Plan No. 128/KH-UBND dated June 25, 2021. On that basis, a Council for grading and ranking OCOP products at the district level was established and the project was deployed to all departments, branches, localities and units, while adding functions and assigning tasks to relevant members to implement the OCOP Program.

Up to now, the district has guided and supported producers and localities to actively participate and standardize products (supporting the implementation of production processes in the direction of VietGAP for Khanh Hop melons, Nghi Trung melons, Nghi Thuan vegetables; product traceability stamps for Nghi Van green-skin grapefruits, Nghi Thuan vegetables, etc.). Currently, the OCOP product grading and ranking council has evaluated products registered to participate in the program in the district, with the result that 5 products have participated (2 products with 4-star rating are convenient nutritional cereal powder, high-class cereal set of Mami Farm Co., Ltd., Nghi My; 1 product with 3-star rating is Nghi Long Cooperative peanut oil, 2 products are completing their documents and are expected to be ranked from 3 stars or higher, Nghi Trung melons and Nghi Lam wooden spoon set).

“The district continues to focus on promoting the OCOP Program through various and diverse forms to raise awareness from the Party Committee, the government, mass organizations in the district to the grassroots and cadres, party members, and people of all walks of life, thereby changing the way of thinking and working about the OCOP Program. Every year, assign targets and tasks to implement the OCOP Program to localities, departments, and branches. Continue to support the construction, upgrading, and development of products and services participating in the OCOP Program and support the application of science and technology. Promote consulting activities, support implementation, and focus on supporting resource mobilization, access to mechanisms and policies when implementing the OCOP Program. Accordingly, the district identifies the largest resource as mobilization from the community, and will create favorable conditions for production and business entities to access and mobilize loans from credit institutions to participate in the OCOP Program. Every year, the district will allocate a budget to support and encourage encourage the implementation of some contents of the OCOP Program and the total expected support funding for 5 years (2021 - 2025) is 6.42 billion VND".

The goal is to strive by 2025 for 100% of communes to have products participating in the OCOP Program and the entire district to have at least 42 products rated 3 stars or higher and at least 1 product rated 5 stars. Consolidate and perfect 100% of enterprises and cooperatives with products participating in the OCOP program. Provide training for 100% of program managers, leaders of enterprises, cooperatives, and registered business owners participating in the OCOP program. Build and develop 3-5 points for displaying, introducing and selling OCOP products in the district.
