Officials and party members who committed violations since the 12th term continue to be 'named'
No one is outside of Party discipline and above the law of the State. If there is still intention of profiteering, opportunism, term-based thinking… then even after retirement, one cannot safely “land”.

The second year of Covid has been fraught with difficulties and challenges, but the Party's purification campaign has not temporarily "calmed down". The number of officials and Party members, both incumbent and retired, who have been disciplined and prosecuted continues to be "named". Most of their violations occurred during the 12th term, although the number of Party members disciplined during this term is already "impressive".
More than 87,000 party members were disciplined during the 12th term, an increase of 18% compared to the 11th term. Of which, the number of cadres under the Central Committee's management alone disciplined increased 10 times compared to the previous term, including 113 party members who are Politburo members, Central Committee members, both incumbent and retired, and more than 30 general-ranking officers in the armed forces.
But that number has not stopped. Party organizations and party members who have committed violations since this term have continued to be "exposed" since the 13th National Party Congress, involving ministries, branches and localities such as: Hanoi People's Committee, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Vinh Phuc, Central Economic Committee, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Finance, Vietnam Social Security, Vietnam Coast Guard... The Central Inspection Committee has disciplined and proposed to discipline many party members who have committed violations such as Nguyen Duc Chung, Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, Tran Van Nam, Tat Thanh Cang, Nguyen Thanh Tai, Tran Vinh Tuyen, Le Bach Hong, Le Tan Hung, Te Tri Dung, Truong Quoc Cuong...
In the 11th term, for the first time, the Central Committee acknowledged that “a significant number of cadres and party members, including those in leadership and management positions, including some senior cadres, have degraded”. There have been concerns about where that “significant number” is. Now, the people have answered that question for themselves.
Trials of former officials still take place regularly. There are no more tears of apology to the Party and the People. Those who dare to do it must dare to take responsibility. The people do not need apologies. I only hope that those “bad examples” will be a warning lesson for those who intend to “get dirty”.
In the last two terms, the work of Party building and rectification has been carried out vigorously, especially in the 12th term. From a private car with a blue license plate of former Vice Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Thanh, a series of high-ranking officials, even retired people involved, have been disciplined. From here, the fight against signs of degradation and negativity officially no longer has a "forbidden zone", no longer has a "hidden iceberg".
During the 12th tenure, the Central Executive Committee issued 4 resolutions and 1 regulation, and the Politburo and Secretariat issued nearly 130 documents to direct the comprehensive and synchronous implementation of all aspects of Party building work, in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres, including regulations on exemplary responsibility of cadres and party members, regulations on disciplinary action against party members who violate the statute of limitations, even when the cadres have retired, regulations on controlling power in cadre work and combating the practice of buying and selling positions and power, etc.
The work of inspection, supervision, party discipline and the fight against corruption, waste and negativity is directed closely, persistently and resolutely. Party discipline goes hand in hand with the laws of the State. Whoever commits a violation will be dealt with accordingly.
“A Party that conceals its shortcomings is a rotten Party”, the teaching of President Ho Chi Minh is always true, especially for the only Party in power for over 90 years. If the Party wants to have a healthy “body”, it must be strict with itself.
Remember, at the press conference concluding the 13th National Party Congress held on February 1, 2021, domestic and international press continued to question General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong about the anti-corruption policy in the new term. The highest leader of the Party remained calm, slow but coherent and decisive: "Saw a rotten branch to save the whole tree. Punish a few people to deter, educate, and prevent others from violating. Warning, warning, deterrence, and prevention are the main things, not the need to punish many or severely, that is seriousness".
In the last three consecutive terms, immediately after completing the organization and personnel for the new term, the first task the Central Committee paid attention to was Party building and rectification - a task considered vital to the survival of the Party and the regime.
No one is outside of Party discipline and above the law of the State. If there is still intention of profiteering, opportunism, term-based thinking… then even after retirement, one cannot safely “land”./.
