Female director swindles tens of billions of dong to invest in Bitcoin
Da Nang City People's Court opened a trial of Pham Thi Thuy (born in 1989, residing in Hoa Cuong Bac ward, Hai Chau district) for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".
According to the indictment, Thuy is the Director of Thanh Thuy Event Advertising Company Limited. The registered business line is trade promotion and introduction organization.

At first, Thuy paid high principal and interest to create trust with customers.
In April 2018, Thuy's participation in financial and real estate investments suffered losses, she could not recover capital, and lost the ability to pay debts due.
To have money to pay, Thuy continued to call for capital contributions to do business in advertising events and golf courses for foreign partners with profit margins of 15 - 50%.
Seeing the high profits, many people contributed capital to do business. From about April 2018 to March 2020, Thuy committed fraud and appropriated the assets of 6 victims with a total amount of more than 24.4 billion VND. To date, the defendant has returned more than 8 billion VND, the rest has not been paid to the victims.
In court, Thuy admitted all her crimes.
The People's Court sentenced Thuy to 20 years in prison for "fraudulent appropriation of property" and ordered the defendant to pay the remaining amount to the victims.
