(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 19th, in Vinh City, the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union held its 16th Congress of Delegates for the 2021-2026 term.

Continuing the program of the 16th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union, term 2021-2026, on the afternoon of November 19th, the Congress heard a report on the results of the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union, 16th term, 2021-2026.

At its first meeting, the Executive Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union, 16th term, elected 11 members to the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union, 16th term, for the 2021-2026 term.

The Executive Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union, 16th term, also elected Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa to continue serving as the President of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union, 16th term, for the 2021-2026 term. Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Hien, Ms. Le Thi Huong Giang, and Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh Minh were elected as Vice Presidents of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union, 16th term, for the 2021-2026 term.

The Congress also heard the summary report of comments on the draft: Political Report to be presented at the 13th National Congress of Women's Representatives and the draft Charter of the Vietnam Women's Union (amended and supplemented), and voted to approve the report; elected 16 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates to attend the 13th National Congress of Women's Representatives.

At the Congress, delegates voted to approve the draft Resolution of the 16th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union, term 2021-2026. The Resolution outlines three breakthroughs: supporting women's economic development, starting businesses, and achieving successful entrepreneurship; applying information technology in the Union's activities; and working together to build strong women's branches and groups.

The resolution also sets out key targets for 2026: 100% of women's associations will regularly maintain activities to gather and mobilize women to improve their knowledge, cultivate ethics, and improve their health. The entire province will help at least 4,600 households with women escape poverty or near-poverty; support capacity building for 3,250 women who are business owners, cooperative managers, or household business owners; and support 1,050 women in starting businesses.

Helping 11,500 households meet the criteria of "Families with 5 no's and 3 clean's" or "Families with 5 yes's and 3 clean's". 80% of women and girls who are victims of domestic violence or victims of human trafficking who return home are identified and supported; 60% of women with disabilities receive assistance from the Association in various forms…

In her closing remarks at the Congress, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa, President of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union, affirmed that the 16th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union, for the term 2021-2026, was a resounding success. The success of the Congress is of paramount importance to every female cadre and member, reflecting the intelligence, confidence, solidarity, democracy, and aspirations of all women and delegates attending the Congress.

The results of the Congress serve as an important impetus to encourage and inspire the Women's Union and women of all walks of life in Nghe An to continue to unite, innovate, develop internal strengths, overcome difficulties, and resolutely implement the resolutions set forth by the Congress.
