Coming to Que Phong, visitors cannot miss the Nine-room Temple in Chau Kim Commune. The temple was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2016.

This is a historical and cultural relic with a long history associated with the formation of the Muong villages of the Thai people in the Northwest of Nghe An in general and Que Phong district in particular. Associated with the relic is the Nine-Room Temple Festival, held from the 14th to the 16th of the second lunar month every year and held once every 3 years on a regional scale.

Also in Chau Kim commune, implementing Resolution 07/2020/NQ-HDND dated July 22, 2020 of Nghe An Provincial People's Council on supporting the development of community tourism in the province for the period 2021-2025, the People's Committee of Chau Kim districtQue Phongsurveyed and selected 3 households in Co Muong village to build a community tourism model.

After 1 month of construction, the model has now been completed and opened to welcome the first groups of visitors. Coming here, visitors can experience weaving and spinning silk on the loom, experience working and producing with the locals, immerse themselves in the bustling dance and carving of bamboo beds, and be intoxicated by the strong wine.

In addition to the above two points, from the district center, visitors can go up National Highway 48 about 7 km, turn left to reach Sao Va waterfall with a height of over 20m, pouring into a large, clear lake, surrounded by primeval forests with many species of flora. From here, visitors continue their journey to explore the ancient Thai village in Hua Muong village, Hanh Dich commune. This is a village where 100% of the Thai ethnic people live.

After a day of experiencing with the locals in the ancient Thai village, visitors can journey to explore the Seven-Tier waterfall complex starting from the end of Hua Muong village, stretching about 15 km with 7 large water levels and dozens of different small waterfall levels. Located in the 3 core areas of the Western Nghe An World Biosphere Reserve, there is also Pu Hoat Nature Reserve with an area of ​​over 85,000 hectares located in 9 communes of Que Phong district. Coming here, visitors can explore the primeval forest vegetation that has been protected for hundreds of years, visit the wild beauty with many rare animals and plants. Experience adventure tourism climbing Pu Hoat mountain at an altitude of 2,400m, visit 2 populations of giant Phay Horn and Samu Dau trees in the middle of the Pu Hoat forest, which were recognized as a population of Vietnam Heritage trees in 2016.

From the primeval forests, visitors can experience a tour to explore the Hua Na hydroelectric lake, which stretches across the two communes of Dong Van and Thong Thu. Coming here, in addition to sightseeing and sightseeing by boat on the lake surface of more than 21 km2, they can also fish on the lake, visit the islands formed from the flooding process...

Target to attract 12,000 domestic visitors by 2025

With the above advantages, in recent years, Que Phong district has led, directed, issued the Project and implemented the work of preserving, conserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups associated with the development of ecotourism and community tourism, initially achieving certain results. In the period of 2015 - 2020, the district welcomed about 8,000 visitors/year, of which the number of overnight visitors accounted for about 10-12%. Tourism-related income mainly comes from food and beverage business, accommodation, sale of agricultural products and local medicinal herbs, with total revenue estimated at 13 billion VND/year.

Talking to us, Mr. Duong Hoang Vu - Chairman of Que Phong District People's Committee said: In order to exploit and promote tourism resources and resources, take advantage of the available favorable opportunities of the locality, create a strong development step in socio-economic development in general and develop tourism in the district in particular, Que Phong District People's Committee issued the "Project on developing eco-tourism and community tourism associated with preserving and promoting ethnic cultural values ​​in Que Phong district, period 2021 - 2025, orientation to 2030".

Accordingly, the Project is built with the viewpoint of developing tourism associated with the economic transition process; creating jobs, improving the material and spiritual life of the people. Developing sustainable tourism, associated with preserving and promoting national cultural values; preserving natural landscapes, protecting the environment; ensuring national defense and security, social order and safety. Strengthening tourism links with neighboring localities, first of all, forming and effectively promoting intra-provincial tourism routes associated with Que Phong. Complying with the master plan on economic - cultural and social development of the locality and complying with other related construction plans.

To make the Project effective, along with overcoming limitations and shortcomings, in the development orientation, the district focuses on building tours and routes. Specifically:

Route 1 (1 day, 1 night):Visit and burn incense at Chin Gian Temple - Learn about local culture through visiting and learning at the district's traditional house - Visit models of garden-forest economy, large-scale livestock farming households and small-scale handicrafts in Tri Le commune - Visitors rest, enjoy culinary culture, folk culture and arts, and experience agricultural models in Co Muong village, Chau Kim commune.

Route 2 (2 days; 2 nights):Chin Gian Temple - Sao Va Waterfall - Explore and experience the samu and hornbill forests - Visit and experience the Bay Tang waterfall complex - Guests stay at the homestay, enjoy the culinary culture, culture, and folk arts of Long Thang village (ancient Thai village) - Learn about indigenous culture, experience the lives of the people through farming, planting, raising animals, experience fishing, and rowing on the Nam Viec river - Guests stay at the homestay, enjoy the culinary culture, and folk arts and culture in Quang Vinh village, Hanh Dich commune.

The Project's goal is to attract 800 - 1,000 international tourists and 10,000 - 12,000 domestic tourists by 2025; and 1,200 - 1,500 international tourists and 15,000 - 17,000 domestic tourists by 2030. Total revenue from tourism activities will reach 18 - 20 billion VND by 2025; 22 - 25 billion VND by 2030. Strive to create jobs for 150 workers by 2025. By 2030, it will be 200 workers (of which 50% will be trained and fostered in tourism expertise).
