Awarding 'Support to School' scholarships to 68 disadvantaged students in the North Central region
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 4, Tuoi Tre Newspaper coordinated with the Youth Union of 4 provinces: Nghe An, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh and Thanh Hoa to organize a ceremony to honor and award "Tiep suc den truong" scholarships to 68 new students with difficult circumstances in the North Central region. Of which, Nghe An had 20 students awarded scholarships.

Each "Tiep suc den truong" scholarship is worth 10 million VND, of which the special scholarship is 15 million VND to be awarded to those facing many difficult circumstances.
This year, the program awarded scholarships worth more than 740 million VND to 68 students in the North Central provinces. Of which, Nghe An has 20 students studying at universities in and outside the province who were awarded scholarships.
The accompanying units at the program also presented 2 laptops to 2 new students with special difficulties and lacking learning equipment.

In 2021, the "Support to School" Program for new students will also be organized and awarded to the following regions: Central, Central Highlands, Southeast, Mekong Delta; Northern and North Central provinces and cities.
After 18 years of implementation, the "Tiep suc den truong" scholarship has supported 20,395 new students with difficulties to go to university and college with a total amount of more than 146.5 billion VND.

In 2021, due to the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, many new students have become orphans. The difficulties are further compounded when relatives lose their jobs and have reduced income. Therefore, the scholarship fund will continue to consider awarding scholarships to more than 1,000 new students in difficult circumstances in 63 provinces and cities nationwide with a total budget of more than 12 billion VND.
In addition, the accompanying units also sponsored 50 laptops worth more than 600 million VND for new students with special difficulties and lack of learning equipment; 1,500 backpacks as gifts for new students worth 230 million VND in total.
