Signing of cooperation agreement between Biomass Fuel Vietnam Company and Sustainable Forest Management Component
(Baonghean.vn) - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu requested the two units to fully prepare resources and human resources to fully, promptly and effectively implement the activities that the two sides have signed the agreement on.
On the afternoon of December 6, at VSIP Industrial Park, a signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between Biomass Fuel Vietnam Co., Ltd. and the Sustainable Forest Management Component funded by USAID took place. Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and representatives of departments, branches and localities. On the side of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, there was Mr. Vu Van Hung - Deputy Head of the Forestry Project Management Board.

The general objective of the cooperation agreement is to supportNghe Antransition to a low-emission economy and green growth by upgrading the value chain of large-scale forest certification production with the participation of the private and community sectors, creating long-term links between Biomass Company and production forest growers.
In particular, ensuring the participation of people to develop a large-scale acacia value chain, aiming to grant FSC certification for about 5,000 hectares of forest, increasing carbon absorption; increasing the value and productivity of planted forests, raising awareness of sustainable standards for indigenous people, meeting the requirements to access demanding markets such as Japan, Europe, the US... contributing to achieving the goal of comprehensive sustainable development.

To achieve this important goal, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that both sides prepare adequate resources and human resources to fully, promptly and effectively implement the activities that the two sides have signed the agreement on.
Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu directed the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the VFBC Nghe An Project Management Board and other departments, branches and localities to regularly coordinate with the Central Project Management Board and Biomass Company to effectively implement this agreement; promptly grasp and resolve any arising difficulties or advise competent authorities to promptly resolve them to ensure the implementation of the objectives of the agreement.

Nghe An province commits to creating the most favorable conditions for Biomass Fuel Company to invest and do business in Nghe An.and ensure full implementation of investment incentive policies in accordance with current regulations of the State and the Provincial People's Committee.
