On the morning of December 7, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union held a workshop on “Solutions to promote farmers to apply high technology in agricultural production and business”. The workshop was attended by relevant departments, branches and farmers who are owners of high-tech production models, companies and production-linked enterprises.
The workshop was chaired by comrades: Nguyen Xuan Dinh - Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union; Nguyen Quang Tung - Member of the Executive Committee.CentralVietnam Farmers' Union, Chairman of Provincial Farmers' Union.
THE WHOLE PROVINCE HAS23,186 HAHIGH TECHNOLOGY AGRICULTURE
In order to promote the development of science and technology, in recent years, the Government has issued many mechanisms and policies on science and technology. At the same time, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Nghe An province have also issued many documents stipulating mechanisms and policies to promote the development of high-tech applications (CNC) in agricultural production.

According to the report at the workshop of the Agriculture sector, in 2020, Nghe An had a total agricultural cultivation area applying CNC of over 23,186 hectares, accounting for 7.65% of the agricultural production land area; The total herd of cows raised using high technology was over 69,640; The total herd of pigs raised using high technology was 158,405; There were 70 farms applying high technology. In Nghe An province, there are currently 25 enterprises and 29 cooperatives applying high technology in agricultural production.
In the past time, 134 models of applying scientific and technological advances to agricultural production have been deployed. Of these, there are 116 models of crop cultivation, 12 models of livestock breeding, and 6 models of aquaculture. The investment capital for high-tech agriculture by 2020 is 41,512 billion VND.

Accompanying farmers in applying CNC in production and business, in recent times,Provincial Farmers' Associationhas promoted the dissemination of support policies on CNC application; mobilized farmers to consolidate fields, exchange plots, and accumulate land; transformed awareness from small-scale, individual production to joint ventures and cooperation in production and business according to the value chain from cultivation, harvesting, preservation, processing and trading; effectively implemented the movement of farmers competing in good production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty; attracted resources to organize short-term vocational training classes for rural workers, training and transferring science and technology to farmer members; created favorable conditions for farming households to access preferential loans to develop agricultural production...
STRENGTHENING LINKAGES, ENHANCE COMPETITIVENESS FOR AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS

At the workshop, delegates also frankly pointed out the shortcomings and limitations in the application of high technology in production in Nghe An such as: Agricultural production applying CNC in the province has only focused mainly on the application of technical advances in each stage of the production process, but there are not many products applying CNC according to the product value chain, so the efficiency is not high, lacking sustainability; the branding of agricultural products applying CNC is still limited; Agricultural production according to clean and safe standards (GAP) is focused on, but maintenance is difficult; Post-harvest preservation and processing stages still have many limitations, many products have low productivity, high cost, unstable quality, leading tocompetitivenessPoor; The number of enterprises investing in agriculture and rural areas in general, and high-tech agriculture in particular, is still low; Support resources are still limited compared to the total investment in high-tech agricultural production, and procedures for enjoying incentives from policies are still cumbersome.

The workshop also focused on discussing and discussing solutions to effectively implement the work.high-tech agricultural developmentaccording to the objectives set out in the planning of high-tech agricultural zones in Nghe An province until 2020, with a vision to 2030. Accordingly, promote propaganda and investment promotion; review and build a list of key projects and fields of plants and animals to attract investors to invest in CNC application in association with farmers to organize raw material production associated with the construction of processing plants.

In particular, it is necessary to take enterprises as the center, giving priority to supporting enterprises to participate in developing advantageous products of the province. Especially enterprises with the capacity to access high technology in production. At the same time, it is necessary to promote human resource development; Enhance the transfer of scientific and technical advances to farmers. Do a good job of replicating effective models in mass production, improving production efficiency and income for farmers. On the other hand, perfect and supplement mechanisms and policies; promote trade promotion, build brands of advantageous agricultural products of the province, including OCOP products./.
