Upcoming Putin-Biden talks are an 'unfair match'

Former US President Donald Trump said so and expressed pessimism about the upcoming phone call between US President Joe Biden and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

"Now I see Biden is going to talk to Putin, and that's not a fair game. It's not even a game that should be played. It's like having the New England Patriots play a high school football team," Trump said on Newsmax.

This was possible, he said, because the US presidential election was "rigged." "We never had any problems," Trump said, describing his relationship with the Russian president.

"Nobody is tougher on Russia than me, they don't like Putin, and he and I get along. But I'm the one who stopped the gas pipeline (Nord Stream - 2). I imposed sanctions and stopped the pipeline across Europe."

Upcoming talks between Putin and Biden

On December 7, the Russian Federation and the United States will hold a virtual summit. Putin and Biden will discuss Ukraine, NATO's expansion to the East and the international agenda. The talks take place amid media reports about the possibility of a Russian invasion of Ukraine, which they say is imminent.

The topics of the talks will be the situation in Ukraine and increased NATO activity. The parties will also discuss Afghanistan, consider issues on the international agenda. In addition, the talks are expected to touch on bilateral relations, as well as the implementation of agreements reached at the previous meeting in Geneva.
