(Baonghean.vn) - After more than 02 years of implementation, 03 models of eco-tourism development associated with sustainable forest protection and development for ethnic minorities in the buffer zone of Pu Mat National Park have been successfully built.
On January 5, the Tourism Association, the Department of Tourism, Con Cuong and Tuong Duong districts, the Global Environment Facility - UN Small Project in Vietnam jointly organized a conference to summarize the Project "Developing tourism for ethnic minority communities".ethnic minorityBuffer zone of Pu Mat National Park, contributing to the conservation of biodiversity of the Western Nghe An Biosphere Reserve associated with sustainable forest development".

Project "Developing tourism for ethnic minority communities in the buffer zone"Pu Mat National Park, contributing to the conservation of biodiversity of the Western Nghe An Biosphere Reserve associated with sustainable forest development" funded by the Global Environment Facility - Small Grants Program (GEF SGP) with a total budget of VND 1,107,804,000 and counterpart capital of VND 450,000,000.
The project is implemented in Xieng village, Mon Son commune (Con Cuong) and Quang Phuc village, Quang Thinh village, Tam Dinh commune (Tuong Duong).

The project aims to conserve the biodiversity of the Biosphere Reserve.Western Nghe Anon the basis of developing eco-tourism associated with protecting and developing sustainable forests for ethnic minorities in the buffer zone of Pu Mat National Park.
From there, it contributes to creating livelihoods, raising awareness of the role and responsibility of local authorities and empowering people in community ecotourism development activities, protecting and developing sustainable forests.

As a result, after more than 02 years of implementation, 03 models of eco-tourism development associated with sustainable forest protection and development for ethnic minorities in the buffer zone of Pu Mat National Park have been successfully built, including:Sang Le forest, Quang Thinh village; Khe Co area, Quang Phuc village, Tam Dinh commune (Tuong Duong) and Xieng village, Mon Son commune (Con Cuong).
At the same time, knowledge and capacity to protect and develop sustainable forests associated with ecotourism development of ethnic minorities are gradually improved.
At the end of the Conference, Nghe An Tourism Association awarded certificates of merit to 10 outstanding individuals who made important contributions to the successful implementation of the Project.
