Localities need to strengthen monitoring and management of cases entering from abroad (especially citizens returning from main and secondary border gates adjacent to Laos), pay attention to checking the accommodation conditions of these cases in the locality to ensure that they do not come into contact with people around them when they first enter the country according to regulations; strengthen community monitoring to promptly detect suspected cases, isolate and promptly handle outbreaks to prevent them from spreading to the community.

When detecting a case of Covid-19, especially the Omicron variant, conduct an expanded epidemiological investigation, notify relevant localities to coordinate rapid tracing, make a list of all people in close contact and related to the patients, promptly carry out medical isolation, take samples for testing of F1 cases; return results as quickly as possible to deploy timely, appropriate and effective epidemic prevention measures.

Localities are required to speed up the Covid-19 vaccination progress for people aged 12 and over; review and vaccinate all high-risk groups, people aged 50 and over, and people with underlying diseases, ensuring safety and effectiveness; deploy additional and booster shots for cases with enough time according to the Ministry of Health's instructions and continue to promote the application of the Electronic Health Record platform to manage and monitor vaccination progress.

In addition, it is also necessary to strengthen the safety of Covid-19 prevention in industrial parks and schools. Strengthen inspection of epidemic prevention and control work at agencies, units, organizations, enterprises, especially at hospitals, production facilities, markets, supermarkets, train stations, airports, bus stations... and request regular updates on the status on the Covid-19 Safe Living Map (https://antoancovid.vn). For agencies, units, organizations, enterprises,... that do not ensure safety in epidemic prevention, it is recommended to resolutely request a temporary suspension of operations.

Direct and immediately implement the management and protection of people at risk of Covid-19 infection in the area according to the instructions in Official Dispatch No. 10815/BYT-DP dated December 21, 2021 of the Ministry of Health and report the implementation results in accordance with regulations.

Strengthen communication work to raise people's vigilance against the Omicron variant, avoid unnecessary gatherings, strictly follow the 5K recommendations, participate in full vaccination, especially those entering the country and their families must strictly declare their health, limit contact with people around them, do not leave their place of residence, and test for SARS-CoV-2 upon entry according to regulations.

For medical examination and treatment facilities, it is necessary to carry out triage, medical declaration, and body temperature checks; medical staff, departments, and high-risk units need to be vigilant. Strictly implement patient screening and classification procedures to prevent the risk of infection at medical facilities; ensure enough oxygen, emergency beds, and other necessary conditions as soon as possible./.
