Que Ngoc Hai's contract with Viettel expires in December 2021. The 2019 V-League champions want to renew, while Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Dinh also join the race. However, the former Vietnam captain decided to return to SLNA.

"It didn't take me long to decide to accept SLNA's invitation. Firstly, I have a dream of winning the V-League with my hometown team but have not been able to do so. 10 years ago, my brother won the championship with SLNA when I was a young player. Hearing him tell me, I always wanted to do the same thing. Secondly, there is no place better than my hometown, close to my family. And thirdly, I want to play under the direction of coach Nguyen Huy Hoang. He is my biggest idol in football", Que Ngoc Hai shared.

Returning to SLNA this time, he signed a 3-year contract and is considered an important factor in the plan to bring the V-League championship back to Vinh Stadium for the first time since 2011. "To be successful, you have to follow a roadmap, step by step. This season, many teams have invested and transferred heavily, so it will be difficult to predict which team will be in the top 3, let alone the championship. We will try to encourage each other, inspire desire and play our best. Hopefully, SLNA will not only be a top team in the future, but can also participate in the Asian Cups," added Que Ngoc Hai.

Australia team missing 2 key players in match against Vietnam

Midfielder Hrustic is suspended for one match and will not be able to play against Vietnam. He has received two yellow cards in two matches against China (on September 21, 2021 and November 16, 2021).
This is a significant loss for the Australian team. Hrustic is a key midfielder, playing in all 6 matches in the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup. He was the owner of the assist for defender Rhyan Grant to head in the only goal against the Vietnamese team on September 7, 2021.

Another notable absence for Australia is centre-back Harry Souttar, who was injured in the 0-0 draw with Saudi Arabia on 11 November 2021. Football Federation Australia confirmed that Souttar suffered a serious ligament injury. The Stoke City centre-back will miss the remainder of the 2021/22 season, meaning he will also miss the rematch against Vietnam.

In the meeting at My Dinh Stadium, Souttar caused many Vietnamese players to have difficulties. With a height of 1.98 m, he easily won the disputes. This central defender also played proactively, often rushing forward to intervene before Quang Hai and Tien Linh could touch the ball.
