“Vietnam notes the publication of the US State Department’s Report No. 150 on maritime boundaries. Regarding the disputes in the East Sea, Vietnam has repeatedly affirmed its consistent and clear stance, both bilaterally and multilaterally, according to which Vietnam always opposes and does not accept any related claims that are inconsistent with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
On this occasion, Vietnam once again requests relevant Parties to respect Vietnam's sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction in the East Sea, respect diplomatic and legal processes, and make positive and substantial contributions to maintaining peace, stability, protecting security, safety, freedom of navigation and aviation, the integrity of UNCLOS and the rules-based order.
