(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 19, on the occasion of preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year of Nham Dan 2022, Bishop Alphong Nguyen Huu Long - Bishop of Vinh Diocese, along with priests, dignitaries, and religious came to congratulate the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Nghe An province on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Nham Dan 2022.

At Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, the delegation was received by comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, representatives of leaders of Party Committees and the Provincial Party Committee Office.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long shared his good feelings and expressed his gratitude for the efforts, endeavors and creativity of the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and provincial government to carry out the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 pandemic; at the same time, socio-economic development achieved many outstanding results in the past difficult year, contributing to the overall development of the whole country.

Speaking with the Provincial Party Secretary, the Bishop of Vinh Diocese highly appreciated and sincerely thanked the provincial leaders for always caring and helping the Catholic people of the province to contribute their efforts to the construction of the province and the country.

On the eve of the New Year of the Tiger 2022, on behalf of the dignitaries, monks, and Catholics of Vinh Diocese, Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long wished the province new developments in the new year, meeting the expectations of the people of the province, including Catholics.

In his response, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy expressed his joy and excitement to welcome the delegation of the Vinh Diocese Bishop's Office on behalf of the dignitaries, officials, religious and Catholic people of the province to visit and congratulate the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2022. This presence expressed the warm, affectionate and sincere feelings of the church, bishops, priests, religious and Catholic people towards the province.

On this occasion, the head of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee discussed some of the province's outstanding achievements in the difficult context of 2021; as well as preparations for the people to celebrate Tet.

In particular, implementing the program "Tet for the poor", up to now, Nghe An has mobilized 125 billion VND in support from agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists to have more conditions to take care of more than 66,000 poor households and about 56,000 near-poor households in the province to have conditions to celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year.

From the above results, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that the spirit of solidarity, the atmosphere of excitement and trust of the people is the main stream and is continuing to be promoted and widely spread; at the same time, he respectfully thanked the positive and important contributions of dignitaries, officials, monks and nuns, and parishioners in the development process of the province in recent years, especially in the difficult year of 2021.

In the coordination relationship between the provincial Party Committee and authorities with the Bishop, priests and Catholic followers, which is increasingly close, trusting each other and achieving very good results, the Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee hopes that Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long and the priests, dignitaries and religious in their positions and responsibilities will continue to lead and guide the Catholic people of the province to continue promoting the tradition of patriotism, accompanying the nation, building a life of "good life, good religion", "respecting God and loving the country"; continue to join hands with the Party Committee and authorities at all levels to build the province to develop more and more, and the lives of Catholics and non-Catholics will be increasingly improved.

In the joy of welcoming the New Year, the Provincial Party Secretary hopes that the Bishop and priests, dignitaries and monks will encourage the people to strictly comply with the regulations on the ban on the use of firecrackers and fireworks, ensure good security and order, traffic safety... to welcome the New Year in peace, safety and with much joy.

On the occasion of the new year 2022 and the traditional Lunar New Year of the Tiger, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee leaders, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy respectfully sends to Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long, dignitaries, monks and nuns and Catholics of the province good health, happiness, peace and prosperity.

On the same afternoon, the Vinh Diocese delegation came to congratulate the Lunar New Year 2022 at the People's Committee of Nghe An province. Receiving the delegation were comrades: Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of a number of departments and branches.

Speaking at the meeting, Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long expressed his joy at the province's outstanding results in the socio-economic development task in 2021 in general and the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic in particular. These results have created favorable conditions for the Bishop's Office and Catholics to operate and actively participate in the common task of the province.

Entering 2022, Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long wished the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to continue to achieve greater and more outstanding results than in 2021. At the same time, he respectfully sent to the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee the best wishes for peace and happiness.

Respectfully receiving the flower basket and congratulations from Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that 2021 had many difficulties and challenges, but the outstanding results in the tasks of socio-economic development and prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic remained.

Assessing 2022, difficulties and challenges will outweigh advantages, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung said that the province is still determined to set many high goals and targets and hopes that the Bishop's House and priests will coordinate and accompany the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee so that the province has more conditions to successfully implement the set goals and tasks.
