The Provincial Party Committee's Veterans Association gives Tet gifts in Do Luong
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 26, the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee's Veterans Association, led by comrade Ho Dang Tai - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, Chairman of the Veterans Association of the Agency, and representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Youth Union Executive Committee, visited Thuong Son commune, Do Luong district - the location where the Provincial Party Committee's Agency evacuated during the war to visit and give gifts to policy families in difficult circumstances.

In order to express affection and gratitude to the Party Committee, Government and People of Thuong Son commune for their support and assistance to the Provincial Party Committee during the fierce war years, the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee's Veterans Association directly presented 20 gifts from the mobilized and contributed funds of members and union members. On behalf of the Association's Executive Committee, comrade Ho Dang Tai kindly sent wishes of health, happiness and peace to representatives of policy families, families with meritorious services to the revolution and the people in Thuong Son commune - where the provincial headquarters was located during the war.

Thuong Son is a commune with a revolutionary tradition, established in 1953. Currently, the commune has 143 martyrs, more than 200 people enjoying the policy of relatives of martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and people infected with toxic chemicals; over 1,500 families and individuals have been awarded the Medal of Resistance War against America for National Salvation by the State.
During the fierce years of the resistance war against the US, Thuong Son was a safe base for the Hai Au Division (from 1963 to 1967) and the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee evacuated here to operate (from 1967 to 1973). In particular, it ensured absolute secrecy and safety for 350 delegates attending the Nghe An Provincial Party Congress in 1972.
