23 people were injured or killed in traffic accidents on the first day of Tet
There were 23 casualties due to accidents recorded by the Traffic Police on the first day of the Lunar New Year 2022, along with more than 1,300 traffic violations detected and handled.
On February 1, 2022 (the first day of the Lunar New Year of the Tiger), the Traffic Police Department informed about the traffic situation nationwide on the fourth day of the 2022 Lunar New Year holiday.
According to the Traffic Police Department, there were 18 traffic accidents on the roads today, killing 12 people and injuring 11 others. Meanwhile, waterways and railways have not recorded any accidents in the past 4 days.

Local traffic police inspected, detected and handled 1,308 violations; imposed fines of over VND400 million; detained 7 cars, 584 motorbikes; revoked 57 driving licenses of all types, of which 205 cases were handled for alcohol concentration violations, and 619 cases of violating vehicles were detected through the camera surveillance system.
According to the Traffic Police Department, 100% of the highway traffic control teams were on duty during the recent Tet holidays; traffic safety on the routes was ensured, traffic density was low, and there were no congestion or accidents.
