More than 60% of parents agree to vaccinate children aged 5-11 against Covid-19
According to information from the Ministry of Health, 60.6% of parents (surveyed of more than 415,000 people) agreed to vaccinate their children against Covid-19.

Through a survey of more than 415,000 parents, 60.6% of parents agreed to vaccinate their children against Covid-19; 7.6% agreed if it was mandatory; 29.1% considered; only 1.9% of parents disagreed.

Previously, answering the press during a visit to doctors and patients during the Lunar New Year, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long also said that regarding the issue of vaccination for children aged 5-1, the Ministry of Health is very cautious, comprehensively evaluates, and regularly consults the World Health Organization (WHO). Up to now, WHO has officially licensed Pfizer's vaccine to be injected into children aged 5 to under 12.
The Minister of Health also affirmed that the issue of vaccination safety is always put first, especially for children. The Ministry of Health has also reported to the competent authorities and the Government to buy vaccines for children from 5 to under 12 years old.
The head of the health sector emphasized that we will deploy vaccination step by step carefully and firmly, ensuring that vaccination safety is a top priority. The Ministry of Health is negotiating with companies to be able to supply this vaccine.
Also according to Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long, vaccination is still carried out according to the old program. Vaccination is not mandatory but the health sector encourages it for all people. About 80% of deaths in recent times were not vaccinated or did not receive enough doses. This is very regrettable, most of the deaths were in the elderly and had underlying diseases.
In early February 2022, the Government also issued a Resolution on purchasing Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine for children aged 5 to under 12 years old.
Specifically, the Government decided to agree with the Prime Minister's permission to apply the form of contractor selection in special cases prescribed in Article 26 of the Law on Bidding for the purchase of 21.9 million doses of Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine for children aged 5 to under 12 years old.
This batch of vaccines must meet the conditions as per Resolution No. 09 dated May 18, 2021 of the Government on purchasing Pfizer's BNT162 Covid-19 vaccine.
The Government assigned the Ministry of Health to be responsible for organizing the purchase and implementation of Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine injection for children aged 5 to under 12, ensuring scientific, safe and effective use.
Also according to information from the Ministry of Health, as of February 8, the total number of Covid-19 vaccines injected in our country is 183,196,831 doses. Of which, the first injection is 79,148,668 doses, the second injection is 74,356,060 doses, the third injection (supplemental injection/booster injection and 3 basic doses) is 29,692,103 doses.
