(Baonghean.vn) - At the conference, Mr. Duong Dinh Chinh requested units to proactively advise the District People's Committee based on the epidemic situation in the area, urgently consolidate, supplement human resources and expand mobile medical stations.

On February 10, Nghe An Department of Health held an online meeting with the Provincial Center for Disease Control; Medical Centers of districts, cities, towns, regional and district general hospitals and units in the health sector on the implementation of COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control tasks and strengthening the capacity of grassroots health care in 2022.

According to Mr. Chu Trong Trang - Deputy Director of the Provincial Center for Disease Control, since the beginning of the epidemic season, Nghe An has recorded 21,984 cases of Covid-19,ranked 30th in the country. The average number of cases in the past 12 days is 672.0 cases/day, 136 community cases/day.The number of cases has more than doubled compared to before Tet. Especially from February 6 until now, there have been days when Nghe An has had over 2,500 cases.

Vinh City is still the leading unit in the number of cases in recent days. Specifically, the localities with the highest number of cases in the past 12 days are: Vinh City 1,669, Nghi Loc 906, Dien Chau 758, Yen Thanh 735, Quynh Luu 648 and Do Luong 567.

According to the leader of CDC Nghe An, the number of cases in the province in the past few days has increased due to a number of subjective and objective factors. Firstly, in the past time, Nghe An people from other provinces returned to celebrate Tet in relatively large numbers, along with a large number of COVID cases, leading to infection within families and relatives. During Tet, people visit, congratulate, and celebrate a lot, especially festivals with large crowds, which are major causes of infection in the community.

In addition, during the Tet holidays, people did not declare and did not go to the doctor, so at the end of the Tet holiday, the number of people at risk and showing clinical symptoms went for testing. Furthermore, to prepare for work at the beginning of the year, some agencies and factories required employees to get tested before going to work, leading to a sudden increase in the number of F0 cases in recent days. In addition, people were subjective because they had received 2 doses of vaccine, so they did not comply with epidemic prevention work as well as implement 5K well.

“Home quarantine and treatment of F0 can also be a cause of infection when the quarantine process is not carried out properly and the family's facilities do not meet regulations. Meanwhile, communication work in recent days has been somewhat limited and overwhelmed by Tet media channels,” said Mr. Trang.

Regarding COVID-19 prevention and control, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh requested units to proactively advise the District People's Committee based on the epidemic situation in the area, urgently consolidate, supplement human resources and expand mobile medical stations in communes/wards/towns to deploy health care and monitoring of F1 and COVID-19 patients at home/place of residence.

Regularly arrange vaccination points at grassroots health care vaccination points to organize vaccination for people; Arrange mobile vaccination teams to vaccinate at home for the elderly, the weak, the disabled, etc. Medical examination and treatment facilities from the district level and above are responsible for receiving cases with indications for vaccination at medical examination and treatment facilities from mobile vaccination points and grassroots health care vaccination points to deploy vaccination immediately during the vaccination campaign....

In addition, it is also necessary to strengthen communication work with many forms and means, especially maximizing the effectiveness of the commune/ward radio system to provide the community and local people with information on disease prevention and control; raise people's awareness of getting enough vaccines, testing, isolation, treatment, especially strictly implementing 5K in COVID-19 prevention and control.

Regarding grassroots health care, the Director of the Department of Health requested medical examination and treatment facilities to raise their vigilance in preventing and fighting the COVID-19 epidemic at medical examination and treatment facilities.
