Social Insurance industry actively transforms digitally, taking people as the center
(Baonghean.vn) - The digital transformation of the social insurance industry has made important changes. In particular, the launch of the application "VssID - Social Insurance Number" has brought many benefits to people.
By the end of 2021, nearly 25 million people had installed and used the application to manage and control the process of participating in and enjoying policies and implementing public services; more than 500,000 people used the health insurance card image on the application to go to medical examination and treatment nationwide... In Nghe An, this application has also been effective and is increasingly widely used.

Two months ago, while on a business trip, she had a health problem and had to be hospitalized. At that time, she did not have her identification documents or her health insurance card with her. While she was worried, the hospital medical staff instructed her to open the VssID application to use the image of her health insurance card in the application.
With just a few simple steps, her worries were relieved. After her hospital stay, she also used this application to look up her treatment process and the amount of money that the health insurance fund had paid for her. “The application is really convenient. All the information I need to look up is very clear, transparent and fast. As an employee working in the health insurance patient reception department at General Hospital 115, Ms. Tran Thi Huong added that there are many reasons why patients lose or forget their health insurance cards when coming to see a doctor. In many cases, for this reason, patients switch to voluntary examination, which makes the cost much higher. During the procedure for patients, we always ask for the reason and advise people to switch to using the health insurance card image integrated on the VssID application and people are very satisfied because it is easy to use and convenient.
VssID - Digital Social Insurance is a mobile application of the Vietnam Social Security Agency, helping social insurance and health insurance participants easily look up information such as: Health insurance card, tracking the process of participating in social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, history of enjoying social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance regimes and policies; look up social insurance codes, health insurance examination and treatment facilities and collection points, voluntary social insurance collection agents, family health insurance, 24/7 support services... When using this application, people not only have convenience in medical examination and treatment, but the VssID application is also considered a "handbook" to help people look up information about social insurance and health insurance.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Van (residing in Cua Nam Ward, Vinh City) has worked for nearly 20 years and has worked in many different units. This year, after receiving his Tet bonus, he was concerned because his "1 month salary" bonus was lower than that of his colleagues. Opening the VssID application, he reviewed his entire social insurance participation process and discovered that there was a mistake in the salary increase milestones, after which his request was promptly resolved by the agency.
Talking about this, Mr. Van also said: In the past, we often only knew about the regimes and social insurance payment periods through the unit and there were times when we almost "left it up" to the agency. In Nghe An, about 400,000 people participating in social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance have installed and used the VssID application. This is an effort of the entire industry after more than a year of promoting propaganda, guidance, and support for people to install.

Mr. Ngo Xuan Dung - Deputy Head of the Department of Communications and Target Development - Nghe An Social Insurance shared: "Immediately after receiving instructions from Vietnam Social Insurance, we have deployed instructions and installed the application to each agency, enterprise, school, ward, and commune, so now most workers and high school students know about the application and use it when necessary to replace health insurance cards, look up information related to social insurance and health insurance".
In fact, after nearly 2 years of implementation, the birth of the VssID application has created conditions for social insurance and health insurance participants to access information and perform public services more conveniently, easily and quickly, thereby gradually replacing the current paper social insurance books and health insurance cards. In addition, through the VssID application, with a unique account for each individual (which is the social insurance code), employees can directly monitor and supervise the payment of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance by their employer for themselves.

Thanks to that, it is possible to report to the authorities for timely detection and handling, helping to reduce the situation of evasion, arrears, ensuring the rights of workers. Along with that, this application also provides many other services and utilities... contributing to the public and transparency of information about the process of participating in and enjoying social insurance and health insurance regimes and policies for each citizen.
The VssID application is considered a step forward in the digital transformation of the Vietnam Social Security sector. This is even more meaningful in the context of the Covid-19 outbreak. Thanks to the promotion of digital transformation and the application of information technology, despite the Covid-19 outbreak in the province, transactions between the Social Security agency and the unit have still been effectively implemented. In addition, the provincial Social Security agency has also deployed network security and information security solutions to best serve professional work; built additional software to look up people who have not participated in social insurance and health insurance; upgraded software to support the lookup and statistics of VssID data; added the function of updating and storing VssID declarations... Thereby, creating favorable conditions for professional departments to effectively perform their tasks.

In the coming time, propaganda work, increasing the rate of electronic transactions between people and organizations, units with the Social Insurance agency, continuing to support people to install and use the VssID application is still a key and regular task. Therefore, according to Mr. Le Viet Thuc - Deputy Director of the Provincial Social Insurance, in 2022, Nghe An Social Insurance will further promote the application of IT, effectively exploit the equipped IT system and ensure information security and network security in the entire system. At the same time, it will continue to review, update information, complete the database of households participating in health insurance; social insurance and health insurance participants; the process of enjoying social insurance and unemployment insurance regimes...; strengthen solutions to rapidly increase the number of people installing and using the VssID application.
In addition, continue to review the software for managing the industry's professional activities to detect content that is not consistent with reality and request Vietnam Social Security to update and edit accordingly. The provincial Social Security also continues to closely coordinate with departments and branches such as: Public Security, Information and Communications, Health, Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Planning and Investment, Provincial Tax Department to deploy, implement connection and share data related to the social insurance sector.
