According to the investigation conclusion, at around 8:00 p.m. on January 17, 2022, Lau Ba Van went to Hung Mo restaurant (block 4, Muong Xen town) and saw Luong Duc Tuan and Luong Van Thai (both residing in Na Luong village, Huu Kiem commune) sitting and drinking beer there. Van remembered that he and Thai had had a conflict before, so he called Mua Thang Loi and Ho Ba Phanh to come and deal with Thai.
After receiving Van's call, Loi prepared a sharp knife (a trick knife) and went with Phang to Hung Mo restaurant. There, Van pointed out Thai to Loi and Phang, then all three of them sat down to drink beer and waited to deal with Thai.
At around 10 p.m. the same day, Thai and Tuan left. At this time, Loi told Phang to take a motorbike to chase them. When they reached the area of the 3rd level bridge (in block 4, Muong Xen town), Phang drove close so Loi could use a knife to slash Thai and Tuan many times. Being attacked unexpectedly, Thai and Tuan fell to the road while Phang drove Loi away.
According to the forensic examination conclusion, Thai was injured 3%, Tuan was injured 2%.
In this case, the defendant Mua Thang Loi had 3 previous convictions for "Theft of property". This subject had just completed his prison term and returned to his hometown for a short time before continuing to commit crimes.
