300 year old ancient statue stolen
(Baonghean.vn) - Thieves broke in and stole an antique statue of Lady Lang, about 300 years old, at a relic site in Nam Kim commune, Nam Dan district.
On the afternoon of March 4, information from Mr. Trinh Xuan Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Kim commune, Nam Dan district said that an incident had just occurred in the area.theftThe statue of Lady Lang is about 300 years old.
According to Mr. Hung, the theft occurred on the night of March 2 (February 1 of the lunar calendar). On the night of the incident, the temple caretaker opened the upper shrine door to burn incense. When he discovered the incident, he immediately reported it to the authorities.

Mr. Hung added that the statue of Lady Lang is a precious antique, about 300 years old. This is the main statue to be worshiped at the relic in Nam Kim commune. The statue is about 60 cm high, 30 cm wide, made of wood, placed in a wooden frame.
The mausoleum and temple of Ba Chua Lang in Nam Kim commune were recognized as a provincial historical relic by the People's Committee of Nghe An province in March 2014.
The police are currently investigating and clarifying the incident.
