Nghe An won 1 gold medal, 6 bronze medals at the 2022 National Kickboxing Competition
(Baonghean.vn) - Young athlete Nguyen Thi Mai of Nghe An excellently won 1 Gold Medal at the 2022 National Kickboxing Cup Championship held in Pleiku City.
The tournament is organized with the aim of rekindling the competitive spirit of athletes after a long break due to the Covid-19 pandemic. On the other hand, this is also considered an extremely important practice session for professionals to finalize the list of athletes participating in each weight category at the 31st Sea Games. This year’s tournament brings together more than 300 athletes from 34 provinces and cities across the country. There are two official competition categories: Lowkick and Fullcontact.

Nghe An delegation planned to participate with 15 athletes, however, due to injuries, only 12 athletes were able to travel to Gia Lai to participate in the tournament. Unfortunately, the 3 boxers of Nghe An delegation who were not able to participate were all key boxers, on the list of candidates for Gold Medals. The absence of these important pillars made Nghe An delegation not put too much emphasis on the achievement of "picking" Gold in this tournament.
However, overcoming all difficulties, Nghe An Kickboxing team still excellently won 1 Gold Medal and 6 Bronze Medals.
The Nghe An Gold Medal was won by young athlete Nguyen Thi Mai. The athlete born in 2005 competed in the 57 kg weight class in the Lowkick category. She excellently surpassed athlete Duong Thi Ngoc Anh of the Thai Nguyen delegation. This is a veteran athlete and has won many championships in this sport.
