18-year-old 'boss' leads teenage theft gang
Tuan leads a group of 13-16 year olds who specialize in stealing motorbikes from people from other provinces and then selling them.
On March 13, Son Tra District Police (Da Nang City) announced that they had initiated a case and temporarily detained Nguyen Ba Tuan (born 2004, residing in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District), Tran Dinh Y (born 1994) and Huynh Van Hung (born 2007, both residing in Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District) to investigate the act of "Theft of property".
According to the investigation, from January to March 2022, there were many motorbike thefts in Son Tra district, most of the stolen vehicles belonged to people from other provinces residing in the area.
Through investigation, detectives identified Nguyen Ba Tuan as the leader of the motorbike theft group. Tuan’s juniors, aged 13-16, often ran away from home overnight and used internet cafes as their home.

This group's modus operandi is to travel in groups of 3 to 4 people, using motorbikes to roam around areas, taking advantage of people's carelessness to steal vehicles.
The stolen car was given to Y and Hung to change the license plate and make fake documents to send to Quang Ngai for sale.
During the investigation, on March 10, the police arrested Tuan, Y and Hung. Based on the statements of the suspects, Son Tra District Police arrested 11 other suspects in this ring for investigation.
At the same time, detectives in Quang Ngai coordinated to arrest Dang Thanh Quan (born in 1990, residing in Tu Nghia district, Quang Ngai province) and Huynh Xuan Trieu (born in 1989, residing in Quang Ngai city) who were selling motorbikes sent by Tuan's group.

These two subjects admitted to having sold 11 motorbikes of various types. These motorbikes were refurbished by Quan and Trieu and then sold in Ho Chi Minh City, or sold online. The police seized 13 motorbikes of various types along with many spare parts, license plates, and vehicle registrations related to the case.
Currently, the investigation agency is consolidating the case file to handle Dang Thanh Quan and Huynh Xuan Trieu and related subjects.
