According to the indictment, from the beginning of July 2020 to the time of his arrest on September 13, 2020, Viet bought and sold drugs for Quang three times.

The first time, in early July 2020, Quang called Viet to order 1 kg of ketamine for 425 million VND. After purchasing the "goods" from the source, Viet informed Quang. Then, Quang hired Khanh to pick it up for 20 million VND. At the Ben Thuy bridge section, Nghi Xuan district (Ha Tinh), Viet hid the drugs next to a rock on the side of the road and called Khanh to pick it up. After getting the "goods", Khanh sent it to the Eastern bus station for the customer.

The second time was around mid-August 2020, Quang continued to order 1 kg of ketamine from Viet, priced at 425 million VND. This time, Khanh was hired by Quang to receive drugs and send them to the Eastern Bus Station for the customer for a fee of 20 million VND.

After two successful deals, Quang continued to order 1 kg of drugs from Viet. At the same time, Viet also received a phone call ordering 1 cake of heroin from another customer.

On the afternoon of September 13, 2020, when Viet was driving a car to Nghia Thanh commune, Nghia Dan district, he was discovered by the working group of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (C04) of the Ministry of Public Security, caught red-handed, and seized evidence.

The investigation agency determined that Tran Van Viet was responsible for buying and selling more than 3.3 kg of drugs. Quang and Khanh were responsible for buying and selling more than 3 kg of drugs.

At the trial, the defendants admitted to the crimes as charged in the indictment and asked the court to consider reducing their sentences.

Considering the role of each defendant in the case, the panel sentenced Tran Van Viet and Nguyen Trong Minh Quang to life in prison. Sentenced Nguyen Van Khanh to 20 years in prison.
