Mr. Dau Dinh Truong (born 1972) - father of 2 children has congenital heart disease and poor health. Although he is often sick, he still tries to work to support his family.

At the end of November 2021, while working in the fields, he suddenly fell ill and fainted in the middle of a corn field. His relatives rushed him to the commune health station for emergency treatment, but he passed away that afternoon.

Ms. Tran Thi Hieu (born 1977) - the children's mother was diagnosed with stomach cancer a while before her husband passed away. Every month, with the help of her brothers and neighbors, she was taken to hospitals for treatment, but her condition did not improve.

After her husband passed away, her illness seemed to get worse, she could not eat or drink, and had to stay in bed. Two days after Mr. Truong's "hundred-day ceremony", on March 8, 2022, she also passed away, leaving behind two young daughters.

In the charity house in the middle of the village built with support from local organizations a decade ago, now there are only two orphaned sisters left to support themselves. Dau Thi Hang is currently studying in class 9B, Dang Thai Mai Secondary School; Dau Thanh Xuan is currently studying in class 5D, Dang Thai Mai Primary School.

Although their family's conditions were difficult, the two sisters still worked hard to excel in their studies.

Without parents to help and advise them, the two children have to rely on each other to survive. Every day, Hang and her sister take care of the household chores, such as cooking, making offerings to their mother, washing dishes, cleaning the house... Even after school at noon, the two sisters still cook and burn incense for their mother thoughtfully.

The outside room of the charity house is where Hieu's altar is placed. The old house next door, left by his grandparents, is dilapidated and has not been repaired yet, and is where Truong's altar is placed. Mr. Dau Dinh Son (67 years old) - the paternal uncle of Hang and Xuan said: "It is very sad that my family is suffering from a great mourning, in just a few months, 3 people have passed away due to incurable diseases, including my two younger brothers and a sister-in-law. The family was already poor, now that their parents have passed away early, it is even more difficult because the children are still so young. None of the siblings have the means to support them long term."

According to Mr. Son, the children’s parents passed away and left behind several acres of land. The children could not farm on their own, so they had to let others do it. The family had a cow, which they sold to get money to pay for their mother’s treatment. Their mother’s wish when she was alive was for her children to continue their education and finish high school.
